One Romney Supporter’s Solution For Reducing Welfare: “Give the Kids Up For Adoption, Execute the Parents”

Photo of Tea Partier at 2009 rally

When you ask conservatives what’s wrong with America, they inevitably point the finger at liberals, and boldly declare that they have solutions to fix this country, if only liberals would listen. Well, Christopher D. Cook, a reporter for The Progressive, did listen, and you’ll be shocked at what he heard (or maybe not).

Cook visited a Romney office in Blue Ridge Virginia, and engaged a man named Clifford Russell, who says the problem with America now is all the entitlements:

“What’s killing us is all these entitlements, we’ve got to get rid of all of them. All this welfare, food stamps, Medicare, and then big government health care on top of it, it’s all just too much! When do we say enough is enough?”

Mr. Russell is a deficit hawk. Like many conservatives, he’s not all that concerned about who blew a massive hole in the budget, or finding a fix for unemployment, but fine. He has a right to believe what he believes. But what would he do to reduce entitlements in this country? Well, his recommendation for what he would do to reduce welfare is shocking:

“Look, there’s always something you can do. You telling me people can’t make a choice for a better life? We have to help all of them? No. I’ll tell you what really need to do with these illegitimate families on welfare—give all the kids up for adoption and execute the parents.”

How much do you want to bet that Mr. Russell is also anti-abortion? And his solution for cutting entitlements is to force a woman to have a child, because the child deserves to live, then kill her if she gets into a position where she needs government assistance?!

These are the sorts of discussions that bring into question not only conservative philosophy, but the conservative brain as well. Clifford Russell is a retired engineer, and yet, he still views mass murder as a feasible public policy solution. He also doesn’t believe in global warming. So, the question becomes, what do you do when half the country just refuses to grow, think, and evolve? Where does that leave the rest of us?

There would be a lot dead crackers being electrocuted because they are the MAJORITY, who are on welfare. I say BURN ‘EM UP!!!

Now, let’s get to your NIGorant comment about the so-called ‘native amerikkkans’. The Black Afrikan Olmecs OWNED and OCCUPIED this land before ANYBODY! They are the True Natives to this country before those cracker ‘pilgrims’ (murderers) came and stole it from them.

What land do you caucasoids own? Y’all crackers stole land from Afrikans in Afrika and Black Amerindians here in amerikkka, and are still stealing from us today! You people are not native to ANYTHING, not even eu(rope) because this country was FIRST occupied by Black Afrikans called the Grimaldi people. That’s why your his-story/his-LIE books called it the DARK AGES because that’s when Blacks occupied eu(rope) and controlled it.

By the way, the name eu(rope) is from an Afrikan Queen, who ruled it by the name of Queen Europa!!!

LET’S SEE HOW FAR THE CONVERSATION GO’S, NOW!!!

      LIVE AND LEARN cracker!!!

We could also get rid of most of the Tea Party. After the Republicans and their Wall St. buddies crashed the economy and shipped millions of jobs out of this country…the TEA-PUBLICANS and ROMNEY and that bunch have done nothing but complain… because people are poor or unemployed. It is disgusting since they caused most of it. They are so callous and cold-blooded that they don’t want the Gov’t or anyone else to help people. AND GET THIS… many of the Teabaggers themselves get HELP FROM THE GOV’T… subsidies, Medicare, VA benefits….etc.

People like this never see the big picture. Eliminate food stamps and you eliminate farm aid. Now you have millions of white men in rural areas loosening their houses and lands. Now, ask white women and children if that’s the best solution because we all know that they would be the first ones to get murdered.

The USA could stop playing the BULLY of the world by NOT starting unecessary wars. Try using honey instead of vinegar to deal with our adversaries and if that does not work then we can discuss war, that will save us billions! Then we could get all of the White folks off of disability and make their lazy butts go to work. That would cut billions! Here in the state of KY we have generations of white folks on disability, everybody in Eastern KY has hurt their backs but they have a house full of little dirty face babies, I guess getting those kids did not hurt their backs!

This kind of thinking has been the thoughts of Rebulicans for many years. When you view the records of all the Repulican Presidents their records speak for themselves. Romney open confession of his thoughts on 47 percent of the country are the thoughts of thos Repulicans who have been and are in charge. This dumb dogs wants all the people who have children out of wedlock to be killed then start shouting white people cause they are the ones on welfare. I don’t trust crackers and never will. If Romney becomes President it will be a time worse then Ford, Nixon, Reagan, Bushes all put together

There is one point on which I agree with Mr. Russell. We do need to get rid of a bunch of entitlements. But we disagree on which ones. I think we need to get rid of corporate welfare. The US needs to stop subsidizing big business. Million dollar corporations do not need any hand outs from the government. We could save a lot of money in that way alone.

Let’s compromise, and get rid of both welfare for corporations AND welfare for bums.

And to be factual (i.e., just the numbers ma’am), the dollars spent on social welfare programs are 10 times the dollars spent on corporate welfare. If we don’t cut social welfare programs, we are doomed — it’s the biggest chunk of our budget.

#1 budget item: Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, $810 billion per year. The state governments pay additional funds for Medicaid, as the federal government only funds half the cost.

#2 budget item: Social Security (disabilty and normal retirement benefits), $757 billion per year

#3 budget item: Military and wars, $677 billion per year

#4 budget item: “Income security” (commonly called welfare, includes things like SSI and extended unemployment benefits, WIC, food stamps), $368 billion per year

When you stop to realize that Medicare is simply a nice name for welfare for old people and disabled people (they tax workers to pay the bills of the old and disabled), the net welfare is over a TRILLION dollars a year. When you further sto to realize that the baby boomers (those born between 1945 and 1964) are just now starting to retire and we are going to have a humongous flood of new people on Mediare in the next few years . . . we are in deep doo doo — more people using benefits and fewer people working (and paying taxes to fund it).

Right now, today, we have 314 million people in our nation. Only 114 million of those people actually paid income tax last year. Sure, about 60 million of the poeple are children, but that leaves 254 million adults, 130 million work at some sort of job (including part-time), and only 114 million actually pay income taxes (the other 16 million get it all refunded when they file their return). Do you see a problem yet? OK, I’ll add a little more information: 47 million people are on food stamps (SNAP); 67 million are drawing normal social security or SS disability benefits. Now you see the problem?

We are rapidly increasing the number of people who are retired, officially disabled (legit or not), and receiving food stamps. In fact, the number of people drawing SS disability has doubled over the past 20 years. In July of this year, we had more new people get approved for SS disability than got jobs. The food stamp program has added 15 million new people just since Obama took office (which is why Newt Gingrich called Obama the “food stamp president”). And we all know that millions will turn 65 this year.

When Social Security started, there were 16 workers for everyone drawing (and the checks, even when adjusted for inflation, were a lot less back in 1936). Today, we barely have 2 people working for each person drawing benefits. The average Social Security check is $1,230 per month, which means that each worker has to pay $615 in social security taxes to fund the program; obviously, some pay more and some pay less, but that is a huge tax on working people just so we can send a check to old and disabled people. And as fewer people work and more people retire, that $615 per worker is just going to get bigger. Reality is, that there isn’t enough money to pay it. And realize,t hat is $615 per month, not per year. For a year, that is $7,380 per worker, just to pay for the Social Security checks going out. When you double that to fund Medicare, you are asking every working person to cough up $15,000 a year just to pay for Social Security and Medicare. Then, to fund classical welfare programs (SSI, food stamps) every tax payer has to come up with $3, 200 just to pay the Federal portion of welfare (remember, the states have to pay half of the Medicaid). Now you see the problem?

We have to cut the welfare benefits. Not because we want to, but because there simply isn’t enough money to keep giving lazy, yet able-bodied, people a free ride . . . and unfortunately, we will also have to cut the senior citizens some, too.

Here goes again@me00000, if u want to cut any program, then stop collecting taxes( as Malcolm Forbes stated in 1995 before they shut him up). Those politicians would go crazy without all that money to waste on pet projects( bridge to nowhere, and Halliburton’s excessive spending on 55.000 chairs in Iraq). You must be a young azz that has never traveled anywhere outside this county. well i have and we spend to own( ask the Panamanians, The folks in the South Pacific, Japan, St. Thomas, PR, Guam the Philippines for years and now Afghanistan and Iraq). U need to understand Nation Building and the “new” colonialism before writing a bunch of nuthin. Quit collecting taxes(from those of us that are working, and then u may hve an argument. The interst alone on the Social Security trust is staggering. Ask Bush when he wanted to privit

Correction- Ask Bush how much the interest collects on the SS trust fund because he was the first to talk about privatizing it and the OLD Folks said no. Plus, If you didn’t outsource a total of 20 million jobs in the last 15 years there would be massive surpluses. According to The Wall Street Journal, ” Baby Boomers are the one’s with the most disposable income.” Do you know why dummy( and consumer spending is two-thirds of the economy)? Because of pensions and Social Security. My in-laws retired after 30 plus years in the steel mill and my dad also along with a lot of older relatives and they are always spending in the economy. The are buying new cars and trucks and some houses( uncle just had one built). so without that spending, where would the economy be ? Ptah RA

I have talked to some soldiers home from the European onslaught and they talk about how we are building new houses, buying new cars, new flat screen TV’s, giving out biz loans and many other goodies to the Iraqis to “buy ” their allegiance. Is that welfare? Go figure.. Hotep

Isn’t it amazing how “Pro-Life” people want to go to war and “kill” innocent women and kids, but life is so precious while it’s in the womb. They protest and picket at abortion clinics and stand by Silent in times of war. In their “distorted” world, it’s OK to murder doctors and abortion clinic providers, but stand by “silent” in times of war.

Oh, now I get it, they want those babies born in order to go fight in the wars they want the USA involved in. Because, if you don’t see things their way, then it’s OK to kill.
