Guess What? 7,000 Millionaires Paid No Tax in 2011

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock all morning, you probably know by now that Mitt Romney, during a reception for wealthy donors, said that 47 percent of Americans pay no income tax, are dependent on the government, and will vote for President Obama  ”no matter what.” Romney said that these people will vote for Obama because they feel that they are entitled to government handouts by way of food, shelter, and health care.

What Romney doesn’t mention is that the people who don’t pay income tax do pay other taxes, such as payroll tax, and state and local taxes.

Romney also doesn’t mention that these people don’t pay income tax because they’re to poor to pay it. But what Romney also omits from his conversation is that 7,000 millionaires paid no tax in 2011:

….among families making more than $100,000, there were also half a million tax units — enough to replace the population of Tucson, Arizona — that also paid no income tax. Even more surprising, 7,000 millionaires also paid no individual income tax.

It’s not the poor people who are cheating the system. Most of them really are poor, and don’t make enough to owe any taxes. It’s the rich – who make more than enough but take advantage of loopholes to get around paying taxes – who are cheating the tax system.

But since Romney is a member of that elite class, he will never focus on them, and prefers instead to direct the ire to the poorest people in the country. Once Romney release his tax returns, then we can discuss tax fairness.

ROMNEY HOOD sat up one of his fund-raising dinners where people like him…who probably did not pay much in taxes either — munched on $50,000 per plate to hear Romney. That alone is outrageous…considering that these PLUTOCRATS and Romney were degrading working people…and others…and want to take away funds for people who have been hit the hardest. LEST WE FORGET… it was the REPUBLICANS…G.W. Bush’s Admin. that wrecked the economy from 2000 thru 2008 — and now it is the REPUBLICANS who are complaining about people “needing help.” It is all so ridiculous and insulting !!!! IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO KNOW WHO PAID WHAT TAXES…of the people at that dinner for ROMNEY HOOD.

What I don’t understand about american politics is how big business is allowed to support one candidate and not support the other. As Business they should be supporting both candidates. Supporting one says they are buying something from that candidate. More amazing is that the american people don’t seem to see this.

Americans do see it, but they also are Monday Night Football programmed so to speak. They don’t care if their side wins. These are the same people who believe that the period of Americas greatest job losses, 2007-2009, was on Obama’s watch. You can tell them Obama wasn’t sworn in until January 20, 2009, and they would care about the truth one bit. Just so long as their side win. Hope they realize the are voting for their own demise.

They do “contribute” (although that doesn’t necessarily equal support) to the two main parties’ candidates. They’ve learned to hedge their bets so that they win whoever is in office.

They pay tax other than personal income tax!

You didn’t mention they didn’t break any laws!

Now if both parties would change the laws and get rid of the loop holes.

You do recognize their are as many millionaire democrats as republicans, right!

I want to be wealthy one day, don’t you?

Do you really think the country would be better off without millionaires? If everyone made $30,000 per year, it wouldn’t be long before some had more than others, stop hating the rich and do or at least try to become rich!

Oh and pay only the tax you are required to pay!

Oh, if you are one of the 47% who paid no tax because you don’t make enough, don’t blame some one else, do what is needed to make more $$$!

You can if you try, try harder, you find time to do the things you really want to do.

You should want to become rich!

Yet another one of Romney’s flip flops. I wonder how he will weather this one. As Clinton said, it takes some brass to accuse others of not paying the taxes that you claim you have paid, but won’t show anyone.

    Tax his land,
    Tax his bed,
    Tax the table,
    At which he’s fed.

    Tax his tractor,
    Tax his mule,

    Teach him taxes
    Are the rule.

    Tax his work,
    Tax his pay,
    He works for
    peanuts anyway!

    Tax his cow,
    Tax his goat,
    Tax his pants,
    Tax his coat.

    Tax his ties,
    Tax his shirt,
    Tax his work,

    Tax his dirt.

    Tax his tobacco,
    Tax his drink,
    Tax him if he
    Tries to think.

    Tax his cigars,
    Tax his beers,
    If he cries
    Tax his tears.

    Tax his car,
    Tax his gas,
    Find other ways

    To tax his a*s.

    Tax all he has
    Then let him know
    That you won’t be done
    Till he has no dough.

    When he screams and hollers;
    Then tax him some more,
    Tax him till
    He’s good and sore.

    Then tax his coffin,
    Tax his grave,
    Tax the sod in
    Which he’s laid…

    Put these words
    Upon his tomb,
    ‘Taxes drove me
    to my doom…’

    When he’s gone,
    Do not relax,
    Its time to apply

    The inheritance tax.

Why are the rich getting away with NOT paying taxes? Why are the poor paying taxes? I got it…there more poor folks than rich, so if u nickel & dime the poor for everything, the rich can maintain their lifestyle!
These so called presidents are a joke, u met one, u met them all! Quit voting, it gets worse every term. Its a total waste of time. These so called rich folks will pay the ultimate price come judgment day!

I don’t agree w/ not voting… but I will say that we need to stop voting for Republicans and Democrats. Both parties are horribly corrupted.
