CNN Ratings Hit 21 Year Low
CNN’s official quarterly ratings confirm that the cable news network has hit 21-year low.
The primetime lineup is afflicted by the mediocre Anderson Cooper 360 and Piers Morgan. Both shows saw big drops during the prime 8-10 p.m. hours which put averages down to 446,000 total viewers and a measly 129,000 with adults 25-54.
Daily ratings fell to their lowest in over a decade (2001), with 319,000 the average total viewers and 129,000 adults 25-54 — 35 and 45 percent drops, respectively.
Apparently, CNN has some shakeups to come which will help them regain some ground.

I have to admit that I don’t watch CNN anymore. It has become boring. Pierce Morgan is only interesting if he has a celebrity on it. Can’t figure out why they would hire a British dude instead of an African American to do the same job.
People these days want partisan news (i.e. Fox News & MSNBC). CNN strattles the fence too much on political issues…
I was faithful to CNN, however after the last brother came out with his gay lifestyle I was over and done with. I am happily married, but I see so many of my Black sister struggling to find a healthy relationship and can’t find one. Then I see how many men can find what appears to be a “decent” man and my heart breaks. I don’t watch the news to find out who the journalists are sleeping with. He also revealed that he was molested by his mother’s boyfriend. Maybe if he’d received some counseling he could have made some better relationship choices. Mothers protect your children. No more CNN, I actually and reading the newspaper these days.
I agree, I did not need to know about his lifestyle.
That’s not surprising to me because CNN is a very liberal, left-leaning, gay and illegal-immigrant slanting network that allows news anchors like Don Lemon to use his position to lobby for gay rights.
I watch CNN and all of the other cable and mainstream networks to get the headlines and perspectives on the issues of the day. While FOX has a decidedly conservative bent, ALL of the other networks are liberal and do not provide a moderate/objective view of the issues.
I would love it if we truly received objective news coverage , but that is rarely the case. The news is slanted based on the networks’ political preference and ideology on the social issues of the day.
Hence, rarely will you see a TRULY negative story on immigration (legal or illegal), gay rights, President Obama
and anything that is the liberal cause celebre of the day. Fox is conservative, anti-Obama, anti-illegals and does not promote gay rights like all of the other networks.
I would love to find a moderate network that is devoted to illumination of the issues on all sides not just the current ones that just “pretend” to offer opposing views when their preferences and ideologies are already in place.
Everyone is not just liberal or conservative. Many of us are squarely in the middle and need a network that reflects that view.
I was disenchanted with CNN long ago when they did not hire an AA for the newly created “Erin” position. CNN just let me know they do not care for AA.
I watch Rev. AL SHARPTON on MSNBC to stay informed on issues which concern me.
I agree. It seems like Don Lemon uses CNN to promote gay issues. There should be some professional ethics. Also they have lost a lot of minorties with all their Obama bash. They are trying to be like FOX and lost minorities and democrats. FOX is entertainment with a little news in it and Republicans love it. Where can you gett trusted news on cable. NOWHERE but PBS.
They refuse to put a real black person on there.
They would rather have some watered down safe type black person on so they can talk about safe non-threatening things.The whole plan is to get us to watch and then run to a store to buy.
At the same they continue to disrespect and sterotype black people
That piece of GARBAGE, is the same as Fox GARBAGE, h**l 21 is too high a rating for CAN NEVER TELL THE TRUTH, or be trusted.
God I did not think they should ever be rated as a news organization. You should rate news and truth and honesty, CNN, and Fox, should never be rated or listen to.
CNN is garbage. Never understand why they allowed Piers Morgan to replace Larry King. Bring back Campbell Brown who was beautiful and intelligent. Richelle Carey is gorgeous and the light skinned woman on the weekends (sorry her name escapes me at the moment).
I agree that CNN has lost some of it’s Mojo I started loosing interest when T.J. Holmes left I no longer watch it in the 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. slot on Sat. mornings Randy Kaye is so boring and Fredricka Whitfield don’t hold much of my attention either.As for as Don Lemon is concern I think he is a pro at what he does but I think his coming out harmed his image with many black women who used too dribble over him and T.J. Holmes I think he should have kept his personal life private and I am sure that this in it self has hurt his personal ratings.However I think that on a scale 1-10 they are the best when it comes to breaking news of world events and other news CNN certainly have the coverage so even though I may have lost some interest I will always turn there when I want to be informed.about what’s going on around the world.
Rick Sanchez was the man on cnn. They fired him because he said something negative but true about jews. And we all know jews run most of the media outlets. He spoke up for blacks, whites, hipanics, and everyone. When he was fired no one spoke up for him. And when T.J. Holmes left I really stopped watching. And as far as fox news…….it’s 95% lies and bullshit.
