Pres. Obama Compared Fight in a Gay Bar to Selma March for Civil Rights

Whether you agree with it or not, gay is the new black.  President Obama’s comments about gay rights during his recent inauguration speech didn’t go without notice.  But what you might have missed is the president’s comparison of a fight in a gay bar in 1969 to the historic civil rights march in Selma, Alabama.  Is the fight for gay rights the same as the fight for civil rights among African Americans? It depends on who you ask.

In his second inaugural address, President Barack Obama placed the Stonewall riot at a gay bar in 1969 on a par with other historical moments in American history, including the 1965 civil rights marches from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama.

“We, the people, declare today that the most evident of truths — that all of us are created equal — is the star that guides us still; just as it guided our forebears through Seneca Falls, and Selma, and Stonewall,” said Obama during his inaugural speech on Monday.

“Just as it guided all those men and women, sung and unsung, who left footprints along this great Mall,” he said,  “to hear a preacher say that we cannot walk alone; to hear a King proclaim that our individual freedom is inextricably bound to the freedom of every soul on Earth.”

The speech referenced the crucial Selma march, during which hundreds of civil rights marchers were attacked enroute;  the speech by the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. on the National Mall; and the first key women’s rights convention in Seneca Falls, N.Y. in 1848.

Markedly different was the Stonewall riot that occurred on June 27, 1969, when police raided a bar for homosexuals in New York called the Stonewall Inn. The bar was run by the mafia, according to The New York Times.

The Times reported that police raided the bar that night and the homosexual patrons began fighting, “tossing beer cans, bricks and anything else in reach at police officers, who responded by beating many of the protesters and arresting dozens of others.” The event became a rallying point for the homosexual movement.

Obama continued to talk about gay rights in his speech.

IMO What Obama is signaling is clear- He’s going to spend political capital on advocacy for LGBTs instead of Blacks. Include that w his hyping Hispanics as the key to his 2nd Term victory without saying a mumbling word about his Black support [to the tune of 95% vs 70% for Hispanics]- should let Blacks know where his priorities lie & how ‘much’ he actually values his Black supporters.

There is no such thing as Gay Rights…

Only Human Rights & Civil Rights…

No one cares about your s****l preferences…I mean really folks, who gives a p***k about your s****l preference?

Black folks are too busy trying to be like the Perverted Catholic; this is what happens when you accept and believe in the perverted catholic religion…

Had we paid more attention to what the President was saying during his 1st term we would have known this was coming. I guess we were so excited having a black man in the office we forgot or refused to be critique and address anything he said or did. Same on us.

Frankly we haven’t seen anything yet! He is just getting started!

Gay’s comparable to black civil rights struggle! It saddens me to know he does not understand the difference, but on the other hand it explains a number of other things about him.

I didn’t vote for him the 2nd time and will work to block as many of his new proposals as possible. Particularly tax increase’s, he sold us a bill of good last term (lies) even his health care bill is not nearly what he said it was and will cost so far 1.7 TRILLION dollars and it does not even get implemented until 2014. Scary!

He’s wants to take our guns away while allowing middle eastern terrorist to come across the border with the Mexicans! He can’t protect us, any more than he been able to help the people hurt by the storm Sandy.

Obama is the President of Gay and Latino America. I’m sure the self hating willie lynch nyggers will find a way to justify his actions here while complaining about blacks that want him to address the crisis facing blacks and their kids in this country. The time for the rise of a third party is now. Obama, the dems, and the repubs are all sick sociopaths with an agenda that does not include blacks.
