Boomer Esiason Accuses Superbowler Ray Lewis of Lying About Murders, Says ‘Somebody Had to Do It’

Boomer Esiason can’t stand Ray Lewis, and last night during Superbowl coverage, he basically accused Lewis of withholding information in a murder case. Esiason said he was “not soray lewis2 sure” Lewis “gave us all the answers” regarding a double murder case the linebacker was involved in 13 years ago. Esiason did not provide any new information which suggests Ray Lewis was withholding evidence, but that didn’t stop Esiason from making the accusation anyway.

During a WFAN radio show on Monday, Esiason stood by his remarks, saying that although his co-announcer Shannon Sharpe “has a greater insight” about this situation than he does,  Sharpe’s not talking. Esiason then said he refuses to let the murder case go.

“Now, (Sharpe) will not share that insight with me because he doesn’t feel like it’s fair, and I understand that 100 percent. But I also told Shannon, I said, ‘I can’t sit here again and just allow this to go — somebody has to be a voice of dissent and have the opposite viewpoint,’ ” Esiason said. Lewis pleaded guilty to an obstruction of justice charge in the case.

Lewis, who is headed for retirement, is considered one of the leaders of the Ravens Superbowl team, has found Christ, and has tried to put the 13 year old murders behind him, but announcers like Esiason refuse to let Lewis move beyond it.

What is remarkable is that ESPNs Rob Parker was given the boot for calling Redskins quarterback RG3 a ‘cornball brotha’, but Esiason can accuse Lewis of withholding information in a murder investigation without facing any repercussions.

Aaron Keith you are absolutely correct. It is all good as long as it’s not in your backyard. I am no fan of Esiason’s and I am a fan of Lewis. At the same time however I think the people who want to give Lewis a pass need to be more understanding & compassion for the deceased.

Black People especailly Black Men are never allowed to forget their past in a racist society. All Ray Lewis did was be in the vicinity of this incident and they act like he stabbed someone. Meanwhile you will never ever hear or see a reporter ask why is ol’ Big Ben Rothisburger who had 3 different women on 3 different occasions charge him with raping them still playing in the NFL. 1 of the incidents had 2 off duty Police Officers there witnessing it as off duty Security. During this same time period America was h**l bent on sending Mike Vick to jail for fighting some dogs just because they are cute to white folks. Like half the people on the planet don’t eat dog the way we eat chicken and pork. Like a pig isn’t smarter than a dog. But you are going to send a man to Prison and possibly end his career over a animal? He was wrong, but prison? Over some dogs? The same actions that get Tiger Woods demonized gets Hugh Hefner tv shows and millions of dollars.

Hey “Mindset”, maybe you should read the transcript. I can assure you that he was more than just “in the vicinity of this incident”. All the evidence suggests that he was an accomplice –even if he didn’t actually stab anyone–and tried to cover up what actually happened, no doubt in an effort to save his career (again, read the transcript). And yeah, you’re right about Rothlisburger (sp?) (and I’m white by the way). It makes me sick. Yet another example of these celebrities, etc., walking away from things that would completely trash our lives and/or careers.

As a resident of GA, I was appalled and disappointed in these horrible killings. Ray was there. I do not think he killed these
kids. He did agree to testify against the accused. He did not.
I think RL is one of the best LB’s in recent NFL history. BUT,
he helped this case get buried and that troubles me. Why
pay off the victim’s families ? He has moved on….the families
of the victims will really never. You cannot expect them to.
I’m glad he has found the Lord. Forgiveness is available to all
when they repent to the Savior. Great Super Bowl. I was a
vocal Ravens supporter. It is nice to retire on top.

Those guys that he left dead or dying in that parking lot (I DID NOT SAY THAT HE KILLED THEM) didn’t have the opportunity to “retire on top”. Really

Yes, Boomer is correct when he says that Ray Lewis didn’t tell authorities all he knew about the murders. Ray plead guilty to obstruction of justice. Were the victims indeed murdered in cold blood or two guys who got what was coming to them through self-defense? I wasn’t there, I can’t judge Ray. The two men who actually committed the murders were found not guilty.

Boomer’s timing is what’s messed-up. Super Bowl champion, a storybook ending to a Hall of Fame career. That is not the time to go “Fox News” on everybody. It’s a time for celebration. You want to be the moral police, call out your partner Dan Marino. I just thought about something: Boomer Esiason will never be a champion or Hall of Famer. Might be a jealousy component at play here. Hmmm.

I THINK 1000% THAT BOOMER IS A STRAIGHT UP HATER. WHERE HAS HIS CONCERN BEEN FOR 13 YRS???? AND HE SAYS SOMEONE DID THE MURDERS. YES HE’S RIGHT THE 2 GUYS THAT ADMITTED THEY DID, WENT TO TRIAL FOR AND WERE FOUND NOT GUILTY. YES RAY WAS THERE BUT IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN IN THE MIDDLE OF A HUGE FIGHT THEN YOU KNOW IT GETS CRAZY & EVERYONE GETS THROWN INTO IT WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. THE PROBLEM IS WHEN COWARDS HAVE GUNS, KNIVES OR BROKEN BOTTLES LIKE THE 2 KILLERS DID. RAY IS GUILTY OF PANICKING & HANGING W/THUG IDIOTS FROM HIS OLD HOOD IN MIAMI. ITS ASHAME THAT IT TOOK 2 MEN DYING TO BE HIS WAKE UP CALL ON GETTING AWAY FROM TRASH & TURNING HIS LIFE AROUND. GOD TOOK HIM OUT OF THAT ENVIRONMENT THROUGH FTBALL BUT HE STILL WANTED TO HANG W/THE THUG NINJAS TO SHOW HE WAS STILL DOWN. SMH!!! BUT GETTING BACK TO BOOMER, HE HASN’T SAID JACK FOR 13 YRS BUT NOW B/C THIS MAN DID SOMETHING 2Xs THAT YOU COULDN’T YOU WANT TO DISTRACT AWAY FROM HIS GLORY. PLEASE HAVE A MILLION SEATS. GO TALK TO ROETHLISBERGER ABOUT HIS RAPES THAT THE NFL/PITT SWEPT UNDER THE RUG OR MARINO ABOUT HIS EXTRAMARITAL AFFAIR CHILD AKA SOME MUCH FRESHER THINGS BUT THEY ARE WHITE AND FELLOW QUARTERBACKS SO HE WOULDN’T DARE PUT THEM ON BLAST. AND WOMEN BEING RAPED ISN’T A BIG DEAL FOR BOOMER. I JUST THINK HIS TIMING IS 1000% HATER DRIVEN AND GOD IS RAY’S FINAL JUDGER WHO HE SEEMS TO BE WORKING HIS DEMONS OUT WITH AND PUT HIM ON TOP IN THE SPOT LIGHT. CONGRATS RAY!!!…………..JENNY JONES!!!

And I’ll write it again: Read the transcripts and witness statements. He was more than just “thrown into the middle of it”. He was involved in it. He left the scene of the murders with the perps in his limo, told everybody to “shut their mouths about what happened”–whatever happened; we’ll probably never know for sure etc., etc.). And then he was going to “soldier up” and not tell anyone what happened, until the authorities made that an impossibility for him! I know several police officers (one of whom is black, by the way and refers to him as an unconvicted felon) who most assuredly do NOT share your high opinion of your hero. I guess writing this makes me a “hater”, huh? Not hardly.

I feel for Ray, because he is an excellent case of being guilty by association.

Justice only applies to certain people I guess. If the court has settled the case, why is Bummer bringing it up now after 13 years.

Everytime a person of color makes an achievement, some haters are trying to bring them down.

Why doesn’t he go after Brett Favre and Ben Ben for the perverted things that have done but you don’t hear about thst.

    1. Everyone is conveniently forgetting that the charges against Ray Lewis were dropped by the prosecution, as it became clear their case was unravelling and he was not actually involved in the murders. The DA at the time, who was — shocker! — up for re-election decided to prosecute a wealthy, famous individual when he had no evidence. The judge at the time even commented on the DA’s decision to try Lewis and admonished him for wasting time that could have been spent trying real suspects.
It sickens me that you morons who have no information about the case would log on and call someone a murderer.
Ray Lewis was NOT acquitted, people — the case never even got that far! The charges were dropped by the prosecution.
    Dropped!!

I think the point we are all missing is that the media, the league and the fans are celebrating a man who was involved (in one way or another) in a DOUBLE MURDER.

We allow celebrity to overshadow actions entirely too much regardless of gender or race. Roethlisberger? Accused of rape? No problem. Chris Brown? Beat up your girlfriend? It’s cool…here’s an award. Brett Farve? Text pics of your junk? We’ll ignore it.

Boomer said he did not give US all the information. I’m sorry is Boomer part of the Fulton County DA ? The arrogance of white people is amazing. Ray does not have to give Boomer or any of you Nothing. The DA could not prove Ray stabbed anyone. If we are saying he was their and knows more then you white people so concerned with justice need to identify the smiling faces in the lynching photographs and have them charged as well. If by chance they are still living, kill them today. I say Ray was STANDING HIS GROUND like George Zimmerman. He paid the family . So did Peyton and Archie Manning for Peyton sexually harassing a woman. Last Ray hide his b****y suit. It’s with those WMdS in Iraq. Get over it , white people. The most violent criminal race on the planet now concerned with justice? You have no moral ground to speak. If your true wicked history were exposed , you would be exterminated from this planet which is what you deserve.

Black people stop feeding their arrogant attitudes . They come on black websites and demand answers .Like this devil saying Read the Transcript. Go to h**l. The prosecution could not prove Ray Lewis had the knife in his hand or stabbed anyone . He was offered obstruction of justice for lying to police. Big deal . As if white folks who have raped , robbed , killed , murdered Native Americans and africans for centuries have never lied to the law. Ask Recy Taylor who was gang raped by 7 white men and every one denied it. The Tulsa Race Riots of 1921. How many were charged with those murders ? Thousands lynched. Not one person charged . Then the ultimate sin using the Bible to justify slavery . You make me sick with your vile , disgusting conduct. White people your record stinks in the nostrils of God and you have no moral ground to stand on. The only issue I have with the Ray Lewis case is the victims were not white. I offer no apology and could care less what any of you inferior caucus mountain savages think. Thats how we need to speak and deal with them .

Talk about an entire population that was screwed! Believe it or not, I agree with most of what you’ve said. But the evidence suggests that your hero was an accomplice in a double homicide and just walked away from it because of his celebrity NOT his color. Read a little more carefully next time before you start spouting off. Are you sure that you don’t need a hug or a puppy or something?! LOL!!!!

Sounds to me like Ray Lewis is a surrogate for OJ. OJ was charged tried & duly ACQUITTED for killing his ex-wife & her {boy}’Friend’. YET most white folks could NOT / will NOT- get over it [compare their outrage RE OJ to their HO-HUM response RE Robert Blake]!
So they set a trap for OJ over a decade later- who thru his own arrogance walked right into it. End result- OJ gets convicted for armed robbery for retrieving his OWN STUFF, & then they even threw in Kidnapping, even though NO was was actually kidnapped! Thus OJ effectively gets life in prison for having the AUDACITY to hire a legal ‘Dream Team’ [Johnnie Cochran & Co] that succeeded in completely dismantling the prosecution’s case in his murder trial.

But IMO This meme against Ray Lewis is worse. The DA did NOT even charge Ray Lewis w murder, cut a deal w his lawyers for a plea to ‘obstruction’ in the homicide investigation & even those that were charged w the murder were actually acquitted.
So why in H*LL would Mr sour-grapes / NO Super-bowl Ring Esiason try to Slander Ray Lewis’ rep 13 yrs after the fact! Is he implying [accusing] Ray Lewis paid hush $$$ to make this case go away? Or rather would that be the Ravens &/or the NFL’s entire front office??? If so where’s Esiason’s proof??? If he ain’t got proof IMO He’s got a lotta of F-ing nerve getting on national TV during the most watched event on TV & basically accuse Ray Lewis of being an Accessory to MURDER!!! Especially when Lewis apparently had been fully investigated in that case & was NOT even charged w that crime!!!

I can’t even believe that I just read that. You (and your kind) are the reason that some very brave folks are STILL in Afghanistan (half a world away from family that they love and that love them). Khalidx, I understand how you feel, however two scriptures for you from a fellow black man; Acts 10:34,35 ‘At this Peter opened his mouth and said’:”For a certainty I perceive that God is not partial, 35 but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.” And John 13:34,35. “I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.”

I thought Paul Hubbard showed a lot of class in offering you a “hug.” Please Khalidx deal with your anger before it eats you alive or causes you to act out in a way we may all regret.

Yes, as people of color we have been at the short end of the stick, so to speak; but that is not the greater part of the story. Ours is a triumphant story of survival. We are, after all, still here.

Hatered only poisons our own self and begets more hatered. Black, white or all the colors in the rainbow of the human experience are not the cause or the enemy of evil, though we all have the capacity to perpatrate it. The only success we can have against the grand evil perpatrated against all humanity is to apply Matthew 5:43-48. “You heard that it was said, ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 However, I say to you: Continue to love your enemies and to pray for those persecuting you; 45 that you may prove yourselves sons of your Father who is in the heavens, since he makes his sun rise upon wicked people and good and makes it rain upon righteous people and unrighteous. 46 For if you love those loving you, what reward do you have? Are not also the tax collectors doing the same thing? 47 And if you greet your brothers only, what extraordinary thing are you doing? Are not people of the nations doing the same thing? 48 You must accordingly be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. (Perfect used in this case meaning complete, we must be complete in our love toward all, and not just some, as God is complete in His love toward all mankind).

Khalidx, sincerely, peace and love. Don’t let the Devil use you for his wicked ends. We have all suffered my brother. True strength and dignity can be found in how we graciously respond to negative adversity. You may yet find that there are many good white people that are willing to reach out and help you. There is no underground railroad without white people of conscience. There always has been people willing to risk all and reach out to people of a different race or nationality. As is a fact, and is commonly known, even in song … “there is good and bad in everyone.” I pray the good I know is in you, keeps conquering the evil. (Romans 12:17-21.) “Return evil for evil to no one. Provide fine things in the sight of all men. 18 If possible, as far as it depends upon you, be peaceable with all men. 19 Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but yield place to the wrath; for it is written: “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says Jehovah.” 20 But, “if your enemy is hungary, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by doing this you will heap fiery coals upon his head.” 21 Do not let yourself be conquered by the evil , but keep conquering the evil with the good.”

      Andrew,
Very well thought out and eloquently written. Apparently you know your scripture inside and out! Trust me, I have a big soap box about racial issues (including Native American issues as I’ve written above). An African American co-worker used to refer to me as his “blue-eyed soul brother” LOL! Not kidding.
My issue with this whole thing is the fact that because of his CELEBRITY all of this was swept under the rug. My opinion on this has absolutely nothing to do with the man’s race. Trust me, the evidence and witness statements point to him being an accomplice (NOT a murderer…an accomplice). Read the transcripts (Sorry, Khalid I wrote it again) Again, I PERSONALLY know individuals whose lives are ruined for less than what he did. Where is their second chance? Where is their opportunity to turn their life around and retire “on top”? It doesn’t exist because they’re not making the city of Baltimore millions of dollars.
