White Supremacist Teen Who Plotted Attack on Black Students is Free on $75,000 Bail
If you ever wanted to see a prime example of white privilege in America, then look no further than the white teen who plotted to kill six students, five of 
whom were black [the sixth student is reportedly gay] , and one teacher. That teenaged self-described white supremacist has been released on $75,000 bail.
Derek Shrout, 17, plans to detonate several smokeless tobacco cans filled with shrapnel were detailed in a notebook left in a Russell County High School classroom, according to Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor.
“The journal contained several plans that looked like potential terrorist attacks, and attacks of violence and danger on the school. And in particular, there were six students specifically named, and one teacher,” the sheriff said during a press conference.
“He had put a lot of thought into this,” the sheriff said. “It was obvious to us that there was more than just writing a story in a journal and it being fictitious.”
Even more troubling is the fact that the journal began three days after a gunman shot and killed 27 people, 20 of them children, at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
Shrout’s lawyer, Jeremy Armstrong, told reporters in court Monday that “this was just a lot of talk from my client.”
“I believe he had no intentions … to hurt anyone,” Armstrong said.
Over the weekend, authorities showed reporters 25 tobacco tins and two larger ones, each with holes drilled in them and pellets inside similar to BBs.
