Obama and Hillary Clinton Top List of Most Admired People in America

You wouldn’t know it by the way they’re constantly maligned by conservatives, but Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama both top the list of clinton-and-obamathe most admired people in America.

According to a USA Today/ Gallup poll, which asked Americans which person they admired most in the world, 30 percent of respondents cited Obama while 21 percent of respondents cited Hillary Clinton, making Hillary Clinton the most popular woman in America and Barack Obama the most popular man.

In an interesting twist, for the first time ever, respondents included groups of people as among their most admired. For example, “Newton Connecticut teachers” and “U.S. troops” made the list of most admired persons.

USA Today reports:

Americans have always looked up most to their president since the poll began in 1948 with Harry Truman as the most admired. But choices also reflect people in the news, and the school shooting clearly had an impact.

So the fact that a president was chosen isn’t much of a shift, but the survey demonstrates that respondents are mindful of recent events, including the Newton Connecticut tragedy and U.S. troops who are still stationed overseas.

This is nothing new for Hillary Clinton, who has been the most admired woman 16 times since 1993.

There were also a few other shakeups on the list:

First lady Michelle Obama no longer plays second fiddle to Oprah Winfrey, who was No. 2 in 2011. She swapped places with the television mogul this year. Former secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is No. 4.

What do you think of the list? Who would you have named as your most admired person of the year?

@Derrick… .more nonsense BLACK TALK BALONEY….

It’s just a poll…a survey. There is not THEY….except all the folks who answered the poll. They add the numbers of who voted for who…and that is the number. It says Hillary was selected 16 time before as “most admired.” So what?
