Watch: Cops Taser Diabetic Teen During Hypoglycemic Emergency

That there exist a good number of overzealous and dangerous cops is nothing new to the African-American community. In fact,  black parents  advise their kids, boys especially, to be wary of cops. It now seems that what the black community has been experiencing for so long at the hand of  keystone cops is now extending to throughout communities of all colors.

A few months ago, a woman was body slammed in a restaurant parking lot by police after they pulled her over for driving while on her cell phone. And an elderly woman was yanked out of her car and arrested for getting snippy with police. Now video has surfaced of a teenager being tasered by police while he was in diabetic shock.

On April 9th, Ricky Jones slammed into a car because his hypoglycemic state had rendered him dazed and confused. When a Cleburne, Texas cop approached Jones, he asked,  “Do you understand that I’m talking to you? Answer my question. What’s the matter with you?”

When 19 year old Jones failed to respond to the officer’s questions, the officer began barking demands.

“Step out of the vehicle, sir. Provide me with your driver’s license and insurance,” the officer can be heard saying. “Step out of the vehicle. Or I will tase you!”

And less than a minute later, the officer tasered a sick young man for absolutely no reason.

After an ambulance arrived, the officer can be heard ranting, “I didn’t know he was freakin’ diabetic!”

Jerry Murad, Ricky Jones attorney, settled with the city for $5,000 and a promise that officers will be required to watch a diabetes training video.
