GOP Campaign Pays Black Homeless People $8 an Hour to Wear ‘Obama Supporters For Brown’ T-Shirts

Republican Senator Scott Brown is losing in the polls to Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren, and when politicians fall behind, they get desperate. Senator Brown is demonstrating his desperation by paying black people, many of them homeless, to wear ‘Obama supporters for Brown’ t-shirts.

The Republican Party in Massachusetts is bankrolling an effort to get more black voters on their team by paying  them $8 an hour to sport Scott Brown t-shirts. The organizer of Obama Supporters for Brown, Benjamin Thompson, admitted to the Boston Herald that he paid homeless people to show up at a rally wearing the t-shirts. Thompson, however, maintains that the people who showed up were supportive of Brown’s campaign and that the monies paid were just to cover the cost of transportation.

Brown has been trailing in the most recent Huffington Post polls, causing the Senate race to switch from “toss up” to “leaning Democratic”. Warren also leads Brown 50 percent to 45 percent among likely voters in a Western New England University poll conducted for the Springfield Republican newspaper and Masslive.com.

There is a very large gender gap in the polls as well, with Warren leading heavily among women and Brown leading just as heavily among men. But Warren leads strongly among Democrats and independents, which may account for her edge over Brown in the polls.

This has been the most expensive Senate election in recent history and also one of the most highly contested, but Warren has maintained her slim lead throughout.

You would think that a Republican in Mitt Romney’s state would be a shoo-in since he was such a great governor….

What I find funny is that its telling people who support Obama, a democrat, should vote for Brown, a republican. There is no logic here.

There is no depths to the level of evil that these people will not stoop to…It just goes to show how desperately–desperate they are…desperate times call for stupid measures..”They” believe that all’s fair in love and war…

TOO BAD WE HAVE TO WAIT TO HAVE AN ELECTION for someone to come up with a way to help the homeless. Most of the right wingers want to cut off funds for the poor, for food stamps…etc. But when it comes to WHAT THEY WANT…GETTING THEM IN OFFICE…they suddenly find ways to dish out some money. It is good that someone is providing some $$$ to a few homeless people…but it is strange that the REPUBLICAN candidate does little of nothing to help create thousands and millions of jobs around the country.
