Desperate Right Wingers Attack FLOTUS as “Radical” and “Marxist” in Last Ditch Attempt to Scare Voters
The first lady is usually off limits in campaigns, at least that has been the rule in previous campaigns. Hillary Clinton was included in the political
fray because she was involved in the policy decisions of her husband, but Michelle Obama has kept to traditional first lady duties, spending most of her time encouraging kids to eat healthy and get exercise, so why is the right wing attacking her? The likely reason is that the right feels it can peel a few extra votes away from President Obama by painting FLOTUS as a crazed radical.
Right wing rag The Blaze launched an attack entitled “A Detailed Look at Obama’s Radical Past… and We’re Not Talking About Barack” which slanders Michelle Obama as a radical for attending black solidarity rallies in college:
Michelle Obama attends and promotes a “Black Solidarity” event for guest lecturer Manning Marable, who was, according to Cornel West, probably “the best known black Marxist in the country.” The event is the work of the Third World Center (TWC), a campus group whose board membership is exclusively reserved for minorities.
If these right wingers knew anything at all about black culture, they’d know that black solidarity, also known as sticking together, has been a survival mechanism for blacks since we arrived in America. There’s nothing radical about understanding that there’s strength in numbers.
But really, this is about the “otherization” of the Obamas, and how right wing hacks are desperately trying to paint them as European styled Marxists in the run up to the election. Dirty tricks are to be expected at this stage in the election process. It’s what right wingers are best at, after all.

What people forget is that “anyone with any sense” is not who these messages are designed to appeal to. This is stuff is not meant for you. The creators don’t care that you see it and are upset. This hate is to appeal and bolster the racist fringe who all too happy to eat at the mess hall and do his or her duty of believing enough to stick together.
It is a profoundly perverse bit of faith.
If Michelle had gone to a Stormfront meeting on her campus, she would have been either (a) an anti-white pride protester to this targeted audience and painted as a hate-monger or (b) a supporter of white superiority who recognized her place as a lower being in this world. It does not matter. It is all usable fodder that only matters and is being disseminated because she is a black First Lady.
