Alec Baldwin Says “If Obama Were White, He’d be Up by 17 Points”

Actor Alec Baldwin says race has a lot to do with why President Obama is neck and neck with  challenger Mitt Romney in the polls.

“If Obama was white, he’d be up by 17 points,” Baldwin tweeted.

There is certainly some truth to what Baldwin says when one considers what an inept candidate Romney has been for the majority of this campaign. Thus far, Romney has only had one shining moment, and that was during his first debate with President Obama. But up until then, Romney made one misstep after another, from attacking President Obama on Libya to the 47 percent remark. He’s also the same guy who previously held opposing positions on almost every issue that Americans care about, demonstrating that he really doesn’t have any core beliefs.

Romney is undeniably one of the worst candidate’s this country has ever seen, and yet he’s still within striking distance of Obama, and that should tell us something about the American electorate. Baldwin seems willing to tell the truth about the double standards many white Americans hold where black people are concerned.

But this is not the first time that Baldwin has called a quacking animal a duck. Just last week, Baldwin tweeted that “Romney will continue the GOP legacy of crippling less powerful Americans in order to elevate rich, white, heterosexual, Christian males.”

To anyone paying attention, this is a no brainer as well. Guess it sounds a bit different to the ear when Baldwin says it as opposed to when black people make these very same observations. Either way, Baldwin deserves credit for speaking truth to power. Most celebrities are so busy counting their money that they neglect political advocacy. Beyonce and Jay-Z could learn a thing a two from watching Alec Baldwin.

@Rose Jackson, I agree the impact is huge. And ignoring the problem and burrying your head in the sand doesn’t change that reality. Lying Romeny is the worst out of touch candiate in the world and yet he is only trailing President Obama by a margin of error? These white people would rather believe a lie than to have a Black President who actually has their interest at heart.

I am not a black man that is militant as you are. But I do agree that this in their nature. I caught that in what you wrote. This does not mean that all white folks are this way. Their nuture could be the opposite. This is the difference that even a lot of our people overlook.

@Emily, I understand what you’re saying but race is a issue a clear issue. Yea there are racist black people and you can expect them not to be when your oppressor is. Yea it’s 2012 and let’s not even be naive that racism is dead. Look at the prison industrial complex for starters, black men who fought ww2 still don’t recognition for the bravery they fought with. No I don’t stand for racism but when a elephant is in a room imma say something about and not ignor it and say it doesn’t exist which what your insisting right now.

Oprah always says, “When a person shows you who they are, believe them”! This “man” Romney got up and said, “that 47% are moochers, and think that they are entitled to housing, to food, to education, etc. when he got in front of his mostly white audience of mostly rich folks.” During the debate, he lied so much, that even Pinocchio would have been ashamed! Then to top it up, he tooked about loving education, and people needed jobs, and to quote him, “people are hurting because they don’t have any jobs, but before a group of 60,000,000 people, he said he would get rid of educational programming, Seasame Street, being one of the programs. and told the moderater that he liked him, but his job was on the cutting block…Anyone voting for Romney if they weren’t weren’t wealthy would be voting against their own best interests, and yes, I agree with Alec Baldwin!

I find this hard that Alec Baldwin is saying this. I always thought he denied racism was out there in America. Maybe I misunderstood him before. Incidently, he is right.

Race is a term invented by rich 1800 century planters,to distinguish and separate different groups of individuals, thereby isolating the color of ones skin to a profound injustice, such as slavery. In doing so it also created different classes of individuals, with white being the dominate class. Regardless how far we rise certain people will always judge you based on the color of your skin. And whats even sadder our own people forget who they are and, in doing so they emulate the very same prejudices toward their own people. The last 10 years has shown there is far more to being black, with blood and DNA testing people are being made aware of who they are and where they come from, a truth that has been denied to us. We are finding conclusive evidence of just how important we as a people are, along with the many world contribution we have given through out history. We live in troubled times, unification is a must, we have to set aside our differences and come together, we’ve allowed others to destroy our house, now is the time to rebuild.

Alec Baldwin is correct. Racism is an ignorant man’ line of defense when his mind lacks education. There are more Ignorant white people; But there are even more educated ones like Alec Baldwin that realize racism will be the downfall of this Nation. Alec Baldwin, and his Brothers speak the truth more than people give them credit.

It’s a d**n shame when it’s a white person who can legitimately prove that racism exist. If a Black person says it we are accused of playing the race card and feeling sorry for ourselves.

Let’s not act like it isn’t true! George Bush spent 7 years searching for Bin Laden, Barrack finds and kills him and we are acting like it is no big deal. White people are going around “hanging chairs” and calling the President and “Obstinate Child” instead of recognizing the work that has been done to take this country out of the quagmire Bush and his 1%’ers happily put us in.

Tens of millions of so called “liars, cheaters, thieves, robbers & slavers” (aka “whites”) voted for Obama in 2008 because of his promises of Hope & Change… Four years later, many see more Hope than Change & may vote differently…..Why is this RACISM & not just DEMOCRACY in action….

My favorite baseball player of all times is Frank Robinson. When he was hired as the first black manager by the Cleveland Indians in 1974 & later fired in 1977; both were important days for the game of baseball…..

Really like Alec Baldwin as an actor; go to his movies & watch his TV show but couldn’t care less what he thinks politically, as he yammers away from his posh Greenwich Village NYC Enclave,
    where everybody thinks alike…..
