Rant: MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough Dusts Off “They Hate Us For Our Freedom” Lie About Muslims [Video]
You knew America was going to war with Iraq when conservatives began offering this black and white, us versus them, reasoning for why we were attacked 
on September 11th. Never did they offer a nuanced explanation for the attacks which included the role of American foreign policy. No, it was all about how they hated us for our freedom, and how we should counterbalance that by invading Iraq (and eating Freedom Fries, of course). So how do we know that America is headed towards a conflict with Iran? History is repeating itself.
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, who is considered a moderate Republican by most, went on a euphoric anti-Muslim rant on Monday’s episode of Morning Joe that just wouldn’t quit:
They hate us because of their religion, they hate us because of their culture, and they hate us because of peer pressure. You talk to any intelligence person, they will tell you that’s the same thing. And all those people who think we’re going to go over there and change them are just naive. Think about the savagery — the sheer unrestrained savagery — that we have seen across the Middle East and the Arab world because of a crude film. They know what they’re doing.
Sound familiar? However, most thoughtful pundits have cautioned us against drawing the conclusion that the attacks against America’s embassies represent overwhelming anti-Americanism in the Arab world since 1) there were, in most cases, only a few hundred people involved in the protests in countries of millions 2) there were also pro-American rallies after the murders in Libya. Scarborough knows this, he just doesn’t care. More important than telling the truth is doing the bidding of your benefactors by saber rattling and spewing anti-Muslim venom. Job well done, Joe. Iran, here we come.

Scarborough like most of his ilk still live in this bubble where in their world America is this utopia of total peace and tranquility ever since Columbus set foot. Savagery? Like America has not had its share of savagery for a lot less compared to a film that mocks a prophet. Of course they hate America when they see a army coming to there land and killing innocent people in the thousands in the name of eliminating and capturing a few that are unaccountable for terrorists acts against America. America can’t keep going into a foreign countries killing innocent people with the excuse that it’s a unfortunate part of war. Killing thousands of innocent people to just get those dozens of terrorists in the crowd does not make America look like a great noble nation to the middle east,it makes America look like blood thirsty savages who cares about nothing but revenge.

Joe Scarbourgh may have some of you all fooled, he is no moderate Republican. He’s a closet far right-wing racist. He’s also the most arrogant person on TV.
People with Joe’s mentality think they are superior and entitled. They never talk about why Muslims are fed up with the US. It’s the Anglos vs Arabs/Muslims. The US and Britian has been meddling in the Middle East since the British Empire allowed European immigrants to occupy land the Arabic people lived for centuries. Then the US began their l**t for control of ME oil and profits.
They are accusing Iran of building nukes. They have imposed very harsh sanctions on Iran. They spew propaganda Iran is led by evil people. But what they don’t tell you is, there is a history between Iran, US and the British. They don’t mention the fact the British was stealing profits and the Iranian government kicked them out of their country and privatized their oil industry. The US sent the CIA to overthrow a democratically elected president because the government refused them access to their oil industry.
They’ve killed thousands of innocent people with their bombs and guns, all for oil, power and control. It’s not new, they’ve been doing it to Africa years. The Latin countries woke up. They are trying to interact with the US as little as possible. They too have privatized their oil industry.
So when they say Arabs and Muslims are jealous of Americans freedom and how could they do this after we liberated them, believe, they know exactly why they dislike the US.

Well said. Everything Joe say’s about Muslims or African Americans has the undertones of the following: “I am only making an observation. I have Muslim/African American friends, so I cannot be racist.” I cannot stand that far right wing, racist SOB!
Joe Scarbourgh is a southern white boy when the day is over. He comes across as being reasonable ony because he is at MSNBC. But he is what he is. I learned a long time ago that people will take their side at some point. They may try to ride along without controversy for a while. He is a snake in the grass for the friendly side of White Supremacy.
