Poll: George W. Bush More Popular Than Romney and Biden

Former President George W. Bush is still so unpopular that the GOP refused to offer him a speaking role at their national convention. As a matter of fact, he was a no-show. But even as unpopular as Dubya is, he’s still more popular than both Mitt Romney and Joe Biden, at least according to a recent  poll:

A Bloomberg News National Poll released Wednesday has Bush receiving a favorable rating from 46 percent of those surveyed and an unfavorable rating from 49 percent. That’s compared to Romney’s 43 percent favorable and 50 percent unfavorable.

Bush also fared better than Vice President Joe Biden (42 percent favorable, 45 percent unfavorable) and the Republican Party as a whole (41 percent favorable, 46 percent unfavorable).

So, basically, the guy who wrecked the economy is still more popular than the guy who wants to take the helm. That certainly doesn’t bode well for Mitt Romney.
It is easy to understand why George W. Bush is still relatively unpopular; he took America into two unfunded wars and exploded the national debt. And seeing as how Mitt Romney is an android, his low favorable rating is understandable as well. But why do people dislike Biden? Is it because he’s sort of a gas bag who just loves to hear himself talk? Maybe Biden just strikes people as the type of guy who would get on your nerves if you were stuck beside him on a plane or in an elevator.
Good thing Biden isn’t heading up the Democratic ticket. And from all the infighting we’ve seen from the right in the past couple of weeks, we’re sure conservatives wish Romney wasn’t heading up the Republican ticket, either. Oh, well. You win or lose an election with the candidate you’ve got.
