Feminists Call for CNN Analyst to Be Fired for Sexist Tweets

Women’s rights groups were up in arms after CNN contributor Erick Erickson sent out a tweet or two that he probably wishes he could take back right away.  During the Democratic National Convention, Erickson compared the DNC gathering to “The v****a Monologues,” a popular feminist play.

“First night of the V*gina Monologues in Charlotte going as expected,” Erickson tweeted to the dismay of his followers and CNN bosses.

Unlike Roland Martin, who was challenged for his homophobic remarks a few months ago, Erickson backed off immediately.

“My apologies to those offended by my tweet. Wasn’t my intention,” he said.

Erickson’s apology may not be enough.  A petition from the group Ultraviolet is calling for Erickson to be fired immediately because he “repeatedly offers sexist and offensive commentary.”

Erickson also defended Rush Limbaugh when he spoke against Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a few months ago.  Fluke is expected to address the DNC on Wednesday night.
