Clint Eastwood: “If Someone is Dumb Enough to Invite Me to Speak at a Convention, They Get What They Get”

Clint Eastwood is old and ornery, and he knows it. So he’s not taking responsibility for the one man show he put on at the GOP convention. He is, instead, blaming his hosts, saying they knew what they were getting when they invited him to speak. How’s that for gratitude?

Clint Eastwood did an interview with the  TV show “Extra” and discussed why he chose to talk to an empty chair during his speech at the Republican convention. One would think he’d be just a wee bit apologetic, but instead he insulted the RNC for choosing him to speak at their convention. Eastwood said, “If somebody’s dumb enough to ask me to go to a political convention and say something, they’re gonna have to take what they get.”

Yeah, that’s fine and all, but no one would’ve expected Eastwood to go on blathering about an invisible Obama in a chair. The Republicans were stupid for not vetting Eastwood’s speech, but I doubt anyone thought that he would just go off the rails in such a deranged way.

When asked if he’d do the moronic talking-to-a-chair act again, Eastwood says, “I don’t know. I never look backwards. It’s done and it’s done. I probably would.” Why in the world would he ever do that again? It made the RNC look foolish and him look like an old crank who is ready to be put out to pasture.

And even though President Obama was gracious when asked about Eastwood’s speech, it is obvious that Eastwood can’t muster the same grace when speaking about Obama. Eastwood said he would like to see fewer teleprompters and fundraisers from President Obama, but doesn’t utter a word about the billionaires who are raising money for Romney. It may be time for Eastwood to get out of showbiz and fully settle into old age. He isn’t the star he once was.

I don’t think Mr. Eastwood is playing with a full deck. Some where along his life journey he has taken role playing to be his natural self. He has had his day in the sun. He needs to go sit and stay in a chair.

Aw, man. Leave the old dude alone. It’s not like there aren’t younger and more eccentric human beings out there. How would you like someone to tell you when you’re old to go sit in a chair and die, basically? You live until you’re dead, period. And your day in the sun lasts until they nail your coffin shut.

Sure, he’s a surly and nutty old dude – or is he? He just wrapped a movie, and for all we know he’s just drumming up publicity for it. The ageism I hear coming from you people is astonishing.

This old senile, has been, needs to go and enjoy the rest of his privileges. He ain’t got to worry about being shot down, murdered or beaten by some pigs, so SIT YOUR OLD a*s DOWN!

If that would’ve been a Black man talking to a chair, at a convention, he would be in front of a shrink, RIGHT NOW! You caucasoids will DEFEND your own kind, in a heart beat, but when it comes to Black issues; it’s a different song and dance!

    NOW…MAKE MY DAY!!!

Who cares how much money he has…..He can still be criticized like a homeless person. Especially, when he makes a fool at his 80plus years old rusty behind on national television.

My favorite line from the whole speech was when he said, he didn’t think Lawyers should run for office or would make a good President. The crowd starts laughing and clapping. Except Mitt Romney who went to the same schools as Obama did and graduated with the same Law Degree. Comedy Gold. Typical white people s**t. An old white man can get up there and throw all kinds of shade at the candidate he is supposed to be endorsing but because he starred in a bunch of old Cowboy movies murdering the millions of Native Americans who were here first and this is still their land. He gets a past for that good ole time classic racism where White people could get away with murdering indigenous people of color around the planet and calling it maifest destiny or ‘taming the Wild West’. That’s why they let him speak and that’s why they are terrified of offending him. People like him are the only people who will consistently vote Republican even if it is in spite of their best interest like having Social Security or Medicare for people his age.

With Clint what you see is sometimes what you get . He’s his own man and in the past he’s been smarter than many take him for.

He’s an actor. He doesn’t take himself seriously. Romney is also an actor, and he DOES take himself seriously.

Love him or hate him, Clint Eastwood is ornery because he is so popular and, unlike politicians, does not now care either way. (“For a Few Dollars More” is still an excellent movie, by the way.)

I have always said and still say the blacks are a forgiving bunch. We could have wiped them off the planet long ago.We have always been in charge of their cooking pots and the stuff we could have put in those pots. The mice would have been fat and they would have been dead.

You may love him. But you probably wouldn’t love him if you had to be in a relatiionshp with him. I would wipe the floor up with him. I do not like his John Wayne’s attitide and way of life He believes he is this Mighty White Boy from the movies. But both of those clowns end up in relationships with minority women. You would think they would have the consistency to be with a republican white woman. He is the enemy to black folks to me.
