What’s a Black Man Without His Paranoia? Young Turks Host Jayar Jackson Reveals Multiple Plans For Mass Shootings

The City of Houston  just released a 6-minute PSA entitled RUN. HIDE. FIGHT. Surviving an Active Shooter Event, which instructs citizens on what to do during a mass shooting. Well, to The Young Turks’  co-host Jayar Jackson, the PSA may just  as well have been entitled: RUN. HIDE. GET KILLED., and he’s having no parts of it. In fact, Jackson has his own plans.

Jayar seemed shocked that people were just beginning to prepare for this sort of thing. Apparently, he’s been prepared for years.

“Y’all ain’t been preparing for this for the last ten years? Are you guys serious about this? What are we talking about?” he said.

Like many black people, Jayar isn’t the type to wait for the government to give him directions on how to protect his home and office.

And host of The Young TurksCenk Uygur, knows this about his co-host.

“I knew Jayar was going to go in that direction,” Cenk said.. “The most paranoid man in America right here.”

“Can I say something real quick as you say that?” Cenk added. “Every once in a while, I would find a lead pipe or a bat somewhere and I would be like, ‘what is this?’ And Jayar would say ‘that’s plan number three.’”

Jayar said he wasn’t judging people who chose to run and hide, but that just wasn’t his plan.

“Your back isn’t bullet proof,” he added. “You come at someone. You never know at what point you have a chance. I will say again for the third time, you’re not a bad person if you don’t. But that is the first thing that I think I would have to do. This person, the reason they have five guns is they’re a coward. They’re soft ,you know they are afraid of? Someone who’s not going to back off from them.”

Do you, like Jayar, have your own plan to combat mass shooting like the one in Aurora, Colorado?
