Usain Bolt Says He Has “Lost All Respect” For Olympic Great Carl Lewis
Before Usain Bolt there was Carl Lewis, but Usain Bolt says he has no respect for the “attention seeking” American. According to Bolt, Lewis’ recent
comments on doping were meant to draw attention, and that caused Bolt to lose respect for Lewis.
The Jamaican sprinter was referencing Lewis’ comments, which he believes were meant to question whether Bolt is a clean competitor.
While Lewis did not make a direct accusation, the former 100 and 200 Olympic champion has previously said that the Jamaican drug testing procedures might need to be tightened.
“I want to say that I have no respect for Carl Lewis. It is looking for attention, for an athlete out of the sport to be saying things is really upsetting,” said Bolt. “He was talking about doping and for me he was just looking for attention.”
Bolt continued, ”That was really sad for me when I heard the other day what he was saying. It was upsetting. I’ve lost all respect for him. All respect.”
When asked to be more specific about what Lewis has said, specifically, to cause him to lose respect, Bold said, “It was all about drugs. Talking about drugs. For me, an athlete out of the sport to be saying that. That was really upsetting for me. Really upsetting.”
Following Bolt’s performance in Beijing, Lewis told Sports Illustrated: “Countries like Jamaica do not have a random program, so they can go months without being tested. I’m not saying anyone is on anything, but everyone needs to be on a level playing field.”

Interesting…very interesting.
Pure jealousy! Lewis is just mad because his record was broken by this Jamaican brother.
Will negroids ever stop HATIN’ on each other???
Good. Jamaicans need to be testing just as often as ant other country.it is what it is. Bolt wants to be an international star, and scrutiny and criticism confess with that. He wants to makes money, but not the. I find Bolts overreaction very telling, as if he’s above reproach. He better how he’s not dirty, and the same goes for his team.
I agree with you, I am from Jamaica and I pray that they are all clean. But my question to you is what would your reaction or as you put it “overreaction” be if someone keeps hinting at something you know isn’t true? Would you shut up and keep taking the hits or would you finally fire back? It’s never been about being above reproach, but if you know the “truth” how much c**p are you going to take before you do something about it? Unlike Lewis who was proven to have stimulants in his system during his time and the truth was hidden, Bolt who lives in a third world country was never found to ever have stimulants.
Be safe.
