“I hope he took his blood pressure medication” says Paul Ryan to Senior Citizen Arrested after Fighting for Social Security
Apparently, Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan has no problem making fun of senior citizens who are at risk of losing big if Ryan’s proposed cuts to social security go through. In this video below, a senior citizen confronts Ryan about his plans to cut social security benefits for senior citizens. The man is outraged, stating that he has worked for 50 years and remains indignant that Ryan wants to cut his benefits while maintaining tax cuts for the wealthy.
The man is eventually accosted by police, tackled and hand-cuffed. Ryan’s reaction?
“I hope he took his blood pressure medication.”

Whoever you are, could you please move on. If you don’t like Dr. Watkins, take your stupid a*s to another blog. This straw man argument that “If you criticize President Obama, you obviously are a republican” is the most dumbed down, low brow argument. Well by the time R & R gets thru with you dudes under 50, YOU won’t have any SS that you can afford! Your benefits will be close to nil, they will have been invested in a Stock Market that is and will go nowhere until the nxt big bust, probably a regular item for the future, your vouchers that you folks love so well will be very little and what comes OUT of your own pocket will be very large. Put all that together with a U.S. dollar that will be worth 6 cent on the dollar, compared today’s dollar, and YOU folks will be the residents of the new 2nd. Great Depression. Of course the OLD folks like me, the old hard nosed ones will be gone, so enjoy your future retirement, IT won’t be pretty!!!!!!!
The Republicans have made yet another fatal mistake. One of the three demographics they dominate, are retirees over 65. They hate Obama, because they remember the fight for civil rights, and most of them were on the wrong side of history. Now that they are retired, they will fight to the death to keep everything that they believe is coming to them. Social security is the third rail of politics, and Ryan, who is too young or naive to remember this, is about to get a very important lesson in what happens to people who tamper with entitlement progeams.
Arrogance has a way of masquerading as its twin brother; ignorance. Ryan, go jump in a lake.
When did that happen?
Social Security is not an entilement program. Money was taken out of my check each month for retirement. So I am getting my own money back and after 30 plus years interest should be really good. So this is not welfare. Welfare is something that you get without working for.
Plus with Social Security you have no choice but to pay it. They take it out without an okay from you. Now they are calling it entilement. Why not call our 401K plan that was stolen from the citizens an entilement program. Because most people lost half or move of it. The entilement is where is the rest of our money and why is it that people did not go to jail. I money is now in the Caymen Island.
The clear choice that Ryan-Romney [the new d**k Chaney duo]makes is going to energize Obama’s base and take a lot fo people off the fence now. America is NOT a dog-eat-dog business!!!! It is not a model for “survival of the fittest”.
Yes, some of us will do better than others. But nobody who is willing to work and train hard in this great country should be without necessities and a few perks to boot. And those who are not able to work for no fault of their own should not be the b**t of an “Oh well, that’s life” response from our society.

I’m opposed to Romney and Ryan. However, is Ryan allowed to speak without being interrupted? Assuming Ryan is taking questions after speaking, does the gentleman not have the maturity to civilly pose a question to him?
You “spin” the incident as the police “accosting” the gentleman. Was the gentleman not accosting Ryan and making it rough on all attendees? Would you have the gentleman do as he b****y well pleased at this event?
Reminds me of protesters at a school board meeting, speaking beyond their allotted time, no amount of time being sufficient as their purpose was to commandeer the school board meeting and get themselves arrested and attract media attention.
Social Security is not an entitlement…
The reason, and only reason why SS is running out is because congress is allowed to borrow from SS…
When government gives out money to other countries, or to businesses, they borrow the money from SS with the promise that it will be paid back…
When you pay your taxes, that money is spent immediately (because all Americans live check-to-check) by congress and when they do not have any more money, they take from SS…
When the government needs to establish their spending budget, the money comes from SS…
When NASA, or the Department of Defense needs money, it comes from SS…

They talk about taking this country back to what it was years ago. The question should be do we want that. They never work so they don’t know how it feel to get their hands dirty nor do they know what it is to be hungry. Mitt buy controlliong interested in a company and put it in bankrupt and give out pink slips to the workers so to make a $1.00.
Social Security to them is consider a handout instead of something we work for many years to collect after paying into this fund. I hope America vote wisely.

I’ve learned first hand that when you become a Senior Citizen this country has no more use for you, they don’t care if you die off, as a matter of fact the way they treat us I think they would like it if we would just die…..
