Happy Birthday Barack: President Obama Turns 51 Today
President Obama has hit the big 5-1, turning 51 this week. In case you haven’t noticed, he’s been advertising his birthday for weeks, getting patrons to sign a birthday card for him, which will likely put you on a White House mailing list for the election. Obama has even campaigned on the birthday of Michelle Obama, coming up in January after the election.
The president celebrated his birthday at Camp David with a round of golf, taking some time off. He was playing with a group of friends at Andrews Air Force Base before heading to the Catoctin Mountains in Maryland.
This week, the president is going to meet with fundraisers in Connecticut and have campaign rallies in Colorado. The state is a hotbed for Obama, after a recent shooting took place in Aurora two weeks ago.
The president is going to have birthday-themed fundraisers all across the country, starting in his home neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. The president is also offering a drawing to let two winners join him at his home for one event.
In an email to his supporters, President Obama noted that this birthday “could be the last one I celebrate as president of the United States, but that’s not up to me — it’s up to you.”

MINE WAS THIS PAST MONDAY PRESIDENT OBAMA….MINE WILL BE A GREAT AS YOUR CELEBRATION IF YOU WOULD GET RID OF THE EEOC. NOW THAT WOUL DMAKE MY BELATED ONE A HAPPY ONE. SURE HOPE YOU PUT SOMETHING INTO ORDER TO PUT THEM OUT OF EXISTENCE AS THEY HAVE DONE TO MY CAREER AND MY LIFE. HAVING ME TO GO FROM INDEPENDENCE AND COMFORT TO STRUGGLING AND LIVING EACH DAY FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS IN POVERTY, ON THE STREET, AND IN AND OUT OF SHELTERS, IN OTHER PEOPLES HOMES WHO WERE COMPASSIONATE BUT LIVING IN AN ATMOSPHERE THAT IS NOT FRUITFUL FOR MY LIFE. I SURE HOPE NO AGENCY EVER DOES THESE THINGS TO SASHA AND MALIA. I SURE DO PRAY THESE THINGS WILL NOT HAPPEN TO YOUR OWN. OH BY THE WAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
