Watch: Has Been Jimmie “JJ” Walker Trashes Obama on Fox News
Jimmy Walker hasn’t been “Dy-No-Mite” for decades now. In fact, many folks would consider him a bit of a has been, gone the way of analog radio and
televisions with bunny rabbit ears. But although Walker may be far removed from his previous television success, he found time enough to crawl from underneath whatever rock he’s been hiding under just long enough to bash President Obama.
In an interview with Bill O’Reilly, Walker said:
You just can’t blindly vote for somebody just because they are your – sometimes, even a brother, you have to let him go.
Walker also said that the economy is in the tank, and it doesn’t benefit black people to keep supporting Obama just because they like him. Walker said that although he likes President Obama, “he’s not a good guy for the job we have to do.”
He also encouraged African-Americans to remain focused on policy issues instead of their affection for President Obama.
Later in the show, Walker also expressed his dislike for Jay Leno of all people. Saying that Leno hasn’t used his platform to promote young talent.
Jimmie Walker is best known for portraying J.J. Evans on the African American series Good Times, which ran from 1973-1979. While on the show, his character coined the phrase “Dy-no-mite!”.

I voted for Barack and I do not see nothing wrong with Mr. Walker’s comments. He did not bash the President, he just simply stated the reasons why he did not vote for him. If you listen to O’Reilly, he is the one that continues to bring up the race issue. In fact, Mr. Walker just simply stated why he thinks that Obama is not right for the job. I don’t agree with him but I respect his comments.
Mr. Walker said nothing that I would consider racist. I am an African-American Male and an Obama supporter and I voted for him 4 years ago and I will again because he is fighting a harder battle than any previous president and he is winning. mr. Walker gave an opinion in a very intelligent and respectful manner and I don’t agree with how he sees things, except about my guy Jay Leno…J.J.is right about that, But isn’t America supposed to be the place where people are free to express their opinions? I think it’s called sharing different view points. Mr. walker,to me, represented himself as a very intellectual,intelligent African-American and that video clip gave me a new found sense of respect for him.
The sad thing: He’s not wrong. Everything JJ said was ON POINT. But Black people are only gonna hear that he’s anti-Obama and say “He’s a Tom, c**n, traitor, sellout, etc.” and not wanna hear anything else. It’s no point debating people about it. Even though OBAMA is the REAL Tom, c**n, traitor, sellout, etc. and always has been. But Black people love to FEEL good about things too much.
But it’s very important to actually HEAR what one has to say instead of just reading headlines and sound clips. {{-_-}}
Walker is nothing but a flunky being used by Republican conservative against Obama of course, as someone said-I would hate to hear what they are saying about him behind his back after he leaves the room, another uncle Tom as they would label him.
Who freaking cares WHAT this guy’s opinion is. Don’t care if you’re a has-been or on the hot-list, Americans need to stop putting ANY weight at all in superstars opinions. Get the facts and vote based on the facts!!!!!!
Jimmy Walker has always been a mediocre talent that once stole our hearts playing a buffoon. We thank him for his contribution. It’s sad to see him being used by the right wing media propagandists like bill “o’really”, to play politics when he can barely form a complete sentence. Mr Walker reminds me of Salieri and his resentment of Mozart’s talent. Walker is jealous of President Obama which tells me at some point he got no recognition from the pres, which he thought he deserved. He’s also jealous of Jay Leno because they came through the same circuit and Jay was better and more successful and probably didn’t give JJ the props he thought he deserved. It’s a sad thing to see. Mediocre mud-slingers.
i agree with most of his opinion and those who disagree with Mr. Walker that resort to vilifying him, have bigger problems but are too clueless to repair them. Can’t put us all in one box, that’s insane and stupid!
I was initially thinking that this might be the “Scarecrow Effect” but JJ’s position apparently pre-dates his relationship with Ann Coulter. If Steve Harvey, Chris Rock, Tom Joyner, Charles Dutton and many others can be zealots about Obama’s re-election Walker is entitled to state his opposition.
