Video of Men Groping and Burning Girl With Cigarettes as She Leaves Indian Bar Sparks International Outrage [Graphic]

A terrifying video of a woman being attacked by a gang of brutes as she tries to leave a bar in India is causing international outrage. In the video, a woman can be seen trying to leave the club while men taunt, grope, and burn her with cigarettes for 3o minutes.

Reuters reports that the girl was leaving a birthday party when a group of men descended on her and proceeded to have their way with her. One witness describes it as  ”like a gang rape.”

Mukul Kalita intervened  when the girl  “fell on the ground” and pleaded with him to save her. He was on his way home from work.

“At that moment, I did not care about the violent mob charging towards me.  They abused me, shoved me and even hit me but I was not letting them touch her anymore.  She had been already stripped and I could only move around her to hide her modesty,” he recalled.

It took 45 minutes for the police to finally arrive. The victim said she was just happy that the police arrived before the men had a chance to rape her.

The video was taken by an off duty journalist, causing many to ask whether the journalist should’ve abandoned his role as observer and intervened in the attack.

“They were only taking pictures. Why could they not help me?” the victim asked, according to the U.K.’s Guardian.

News Live’s managing editor Syed Zarir Hussain defended the channel in filming the attack, saying that had the video not been shot, police would not have been able to identify the molesters.

Not only have journalists been criticized, but the police have also been criticized for failing to round up suspects, causing many to suspect that they do not take the case seriously.

In Mexico City women ride in a crowded women-only subway wagon during morning rush hour. During rush hour, a third of the subway wagons are reserved for women and children only, to help women avoid groping and s****l harassment. This should be enforced all over the world, including Japan and India.
