Tea Party Congressman Ties Colorado Shooting to Attacks on Christianity
Most politicians have been earnest in offering their sympathies to the families of the people murdered in an Aurora, Colorado theatre, but that’s not true for
Congressman Gohmert, who is using this tragedy to push his agenda. According to Gohmert, this morning’s shooting should be blamed on atheism.
Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX) appeared on The Heritage Foundation’s Istook Live, and while there, the Tea Party Congressman used this tragedy to push the idea, held by many Tea Partiers and Fox News adherents, that there is a war on Christianity:
ERNEST ISTOOK (HOST): What was your experience as a judge, when you’re on the bench, this is Congressman Luie Gohmert, when you’re on the bench, what was your experience with people who had mental health issues that were involved in crimes of violence?
GOHMERT (Congressman) : Well, it’s always a problem and there are some people who require medication … But you know, I might mention something else that hadn’t been public yet. Most of us that follow the military, love the military know that we have had an extraordinary increase in suicide rates in the military and it’s just heartbreaking … There was a study commissioned, 6,000 personal of index profiles and what they found, and I don’t ‘know if they’ll make it public…but all of the people who have committed suicide within their two percent studied, were part of their 2 percent most atheistic members of the military. We’ve lost our faith.
Gohmert is serving his fourth term in Congress and represents the First District of Texas.

And we think that kids say the darned thing…..
What now Louie–You mean you didn’t think it was “terror babies” / sarcasm!
How about you do all of us a favor & leave your conspiracy theories to your tea gagger friends. Don’t nobody wanna hear the garbage that comes from your mouth.
My, my….another news show earlier insinuated that the shooter was actually a tea party sympathizer…..due to his alleged “web page”…….someone please call the good congressman!!
Now we understand what is happening in Washington DC, with nut like this taking part in leading this country down the drain.Christianity is a business, it has nothing to with God.
It is pimping.. Some evil doers with use anything to get their point across.
Congressman Ghomert doesn’t do his homework, which makes him a prime example of a teabagger. Last week he scolded columnist Connie Schulz for fraternizing with a congressman. Ms. Schulz got him back good. She wrote, “I think he’s cute,” referring to Congressman Sherrod Brown. “He’s also my husband. You knew that, right?” I laughed out loud when I read that. Makes Ghomert a prime example of a teabagger and a Republican. They always have to go, “Oops” and re-state what they said.
Ruby from NJ, I would like to make a correction. Sherrod Brown is a Senator from Ohio. Is there a second Sherrod Brown on Capitol Hill that I don’t know about?
Regrettably that dunce is an embarrassment to all of the district he represents, including his good Republican co-harts, and to the state of Texas.
Ashamedly, he’s the representative that the Republicans sent to Washington DC from the congressional district in which I reside.
He is a living example of how a candidate can be elected in Republican Land (Texas)…just decide to be a Republican and the money flows…In the election of Louie…those Smith County Republicans purchased the biggest dunce around. He keeps his foot in his mouth but does not realize it is his foot…
Tere are no atheist in the military. Its follow orders and do as you’re commanded. Then one finds out that all other Americans don’t give a d**n about the sacrifices made on their behalf.
