Morgan Freeman Donates $1 Million Dollars to Pro- Obama PAC
According to a report, Freeman made his donation last month, which helped the PAC have one of its most successful fundraising months to date, raising a total of $6 million dollars in June.
In a statement, Freeman confirmed his donation:
“President Obama has done a remarkable job in terrible circumstances,” the actor said. “He has ended combat operations in Iraq, put in place sensible reforms of Wall Street, saved the auto industry and protected the healthcare of every American with a preexisting condition. He has recognized the full equality of all our brothers and sisters and placed impressive, accomplished women on the Supreme Court. In return for this he is being targeted by hundreds of millions of dollars in special-interest money. I for one am proud to lend my voice – and support – to those who defend him.”
Freeman also said that vested interests would be donating hundreds of millions of dollars to defeat Obama. When Freeman spoke of people donating hundreds of millions of dollars, he may have been thinking of the billionaire Koch brothers, who are expected to spend more money on the 2012 campaign than McCain spent in 2008.
