In Non-Political News: 200 Chihuahuas Removed From One Home, 300 Pit Bulls Removed From Another

At least 200 Chihuahuas have been removed from what has been described as a filthy Pennsylvania home, according to local news affiliate MyFoxDC:

More than 200 Chihuahuas have been removed from what officials are calling unsanitary conditions in a central Pennsylvania home.

The state Agriculture Department said late Thursday that dog wardens cooperating with state police executed a search warrant at the home in Benton, in Columbia County, after receiving numerous tips.

They say many of the dogs were sick and numerous dead dogs were found. State police are expected to file animal cruelty charges against the owners.

And in Montgomery County Texas, more than 300 pit bulls were found in a home. According to Click2Houston:

More than 300 dogs were seized from a Montgomery County home on Tuesday.

Officers said they found the dogs at a home on Calvary Road near Interstate 45 after they received a search warrant to search the house.

Deputies said the dogs were found hungry, dirty and living in filth. Most of the dogs are pit bulls.

The dogs are currently being evaluated by veterinarians.

Deputies have not yet said if charges will be filed against the owner of dogs.

I’m sure these are cases of dog fighting rings (the pit bulls, not the chihuahuas), animal hoarding,  or puppy mills, but it is a shame to hear of animals being abused in this way. You wouldn’t want to live in a room with 300 muts, and guess what, neither does your dog.
