Health Care Lobbying Group Hosts “White Trash” Party on Capitol Hill
One of the worst kept secrets on Capitol Hill is that no one works during late summer because Congresspeople are, for the most part, out of town. So 
seeing people slack off a bit is nothing new in July and August, but the party being thrown by Strategic Health Care lobbying group is a bit beyond the pale (pun intended) even for summer.
The health care lobbying group is throwing a “White Trash Reception” on July 19th. We assume that it’s chopped full of NASCAR, Coors Light, chewing tobacco, and faux trailer homes, but there’s no way to be sure.
Lobbyists such as Strategic Health regularly throw parties on the Hill which allow them to mingle with Hill staffers, but this event’s theme seems a bit elitist, even for the Hill.
Poor conservatives tend to think that only liberals deride white yokels as white trash, but maybe this will help them realize that even wealthy lobbyists make fun of them when no one’s looking. The fat cats who make a living from big pharmaceutical companies also get a good laugh at low income white Americans. It goes a long way toward the proving the whole, “What’s the Matter with Kansas” theory, that low income white conservatives are mad at the wrong people. They’re mad at “limousine liberals”, but those aren’t the folks poking fun at them for all the world to see.
