Chicago: 13 Year Old Boy Shot in Chest While Standing on His Porch, 8 People Shot Overnight

The violence hasn’t subsided in Chicago. Last night, there were eight shootings, and five teenagers wounded. 

Among the victims was a 13 years old who was shot multiple times while standing on his porch around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday. An unknown man walked up and opened fire. The 13 year old, who was shot in the chest, arm, and hip, is in stable condition at the hospital.

Around 6PM, a 16 year old was wounded in a shooting  in the Fernwood neighborhood. He was shot in the leg and was taken to Roseland Community Hospital in good condition, according to the police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

A 19-year-old was wounded when an unknown gunman walked up to him and shot him. He was only grazed by the bullet and has been released from the hospital.

A shooting  injured 18-year-old boy around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was standing outside when someone opened fire, wounding him in the right leg.

Another shooting around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday wounded a 17-year-old boy in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. A dark-colored car sped past as the boy walked down South Wood Street and opened fire. He was shot in the right knee.

And according to CBS Chicago, there was even more violence last night:

There were three other shootings reported in the overnight hours. In one incident around 9:35 p.m., a 24-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting in the 6500 block of South Lowe Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood.

He was shot in the leg and taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition, Alfaro said.

A man in his 20s was grazed in the head by a bullet in the 1800 block of North Washtenaw Avenue, at the southern edge of the Logan Square neighborhood, around 8:45 p.m. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in stable condition, Alfaro said.

Another man, 28, was also grazed by a bullet overnight, this time in the Jeffery Manor neighborhood around 11:55 p.m. Someone in a passing vehicle shot at the man in the 9600 block of South Merrion Avenue, grazing him in the left side of his torso and the forearm, police said. He declined treatment on the scene.
