Texas Decides What to Do with Man Who Killed His Daughter’s Molester

Texas has become home to a vigilante.  Although over the years vigilante justice has been become more idolized than criticized, legal experts say “it’s still against the law”.

Shiner, Texas, a quiet secluded town, has been hailing a 23-year-old father who reportedly killed a man in his barn.  The Texas grand jury has been called into question and will have to decide his fate but the town, as well as thousands more, stand behind him as a hero.

Last Saturday, June 9th 2012, the father sent his 5-year-old daughter to their horse barn to feed the chickens.  Shortly after she disappeared inside, he heard her screaming.  Dropping everything he had, he ran to investigate and found a man, described as a family acquaintance, a horse groomer, sexually abusing his daughter.  “He was protecting his daughter and doing what he thought he had to do to protect his daughter,” Sheriff Harmon stated.

While police will not release the name of the alleged molester until his family is reached in Mexico, the county coroner has released the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head and neck.  Eye witnesses arrived on the scene after the man had already been struck to the ground and the girl was taken the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The girl has been released and is back home recovering from her ordeal but the father is awaiting the grand jury’s decision in arresting and charging the man with the crime.  While legal experts are arguing that he needs to be placed under arrest and denounced as a criminal, most Americans are rallying behind the father in respect stating, “Any father would have done that”.

I don’t advocate Vigilanteism but in a situation like this I have to make an exception, because if I were in this man’s place, no doubt I would be facing charges too. That slime got what he deseeved. And it makes me think it’s probably not his first tme, just first time he got caught. And his last, so the public doesn’t have to worry about him anymore.

We shouldn’t result do vigilante justice but in case like this the first re-action would be to protective your child at any cost!!! I know had I walk in on something like that I probably would have killed him too. However the laws must be obeyed because you’ll find people seeking vililante justice for walking on their lawn etc.

Given the facts of this particular incident, I would say that there’s little to really accuse or punish at this point. The molester was caught placing his acquaintance’s daughter in harm’s way and the father (deemed to be the protector) did what he was supposed to do. Granted, the results of his action may not have been ideally what should’ve happened, however had he not acted, he would be condemned for his inaction. In essence, it’s a catch 22 situation. Considering the laws of today, it really is starting to suck to be a man.

I don’t support vigilantism. But if that had been me, finding someoen abusing my child, I would have done that same thing. That would have been my first reaction. Let him go, he was protecting his child, an innocent 5 year old.

Laws are in place for a reason, supposedly. Granted, i would’ve resorted to violence also had it been my daughter BUT does this open the door for people to fabricate a motive to validate such violence (i.e. I don’t like the two of them together so I’ll just say he was molesting her so I can kill him). …….very tough decision.

The Father Did Absolutely The Right Thing. We Need More Fathers Like That In This World. I Wish I Could Get Out & Start Killing These Worthless Pieces Of Trash Child Molesters, Rapist & Murderes. This World Is Full Of Fake Pieces Of Trash From Pastors, Priest, Fathers, Grandfathers, Neighbors, Etc. Our Children Have Very Few Men They Can Trust. They Have A Lot More Women. I Hope And Pray Nothing Happens To That Father.

No jury in the world will convict this man. All the courts will be able to do, if they’re smart as they appear, is offer the man some probation and allow him to get on with his life.

Sometimes the law or how we apply the law must be tempered with common sense. Even the most meek person on the face of the planet would have responded with as much force as they thought was needed to save their child. In fact I would recommend a defense of temporary insanity (driven by an irrational impulse to protect their child).

When that jack*ss decided to have his way with a 5 year old girl he brought himself a one way ticket to the morgue. He chose his own fate

I have to agree, I think that what he did is justifiable to protect their loved ones…how ever, you must ask your self though…what’s next? Are there going to be people out there that will claim the same when ever they feel vindictive? I have a neighbor that we don’t get along with, she steals my stuff, damaged our belongings and continuously harassed my family. Now what if she decides to get rid of me because I put her in her place the other day for alienating my son…she calls the police and lies to say that I tried something then goes upstairs and shoot me…dead, or maybe the Trayvon Martin case now that we’re getting more info about George’s entegrity…
I wouldnt want this father to loose his freedom for protecting his child nor do I want that child to loose the only man that would go through such lengths to protect her, I don’t think this was this pigs assault what the h**l are we doing to our future when people worry more about the pedophiles “civil” rights…we let the children
down, gun control but no predator of children patrol, gay rights, but no citizen who pays tax rights…what direction are we going in?!?!?!

Can you imagine what the child was suffering? A five year old child being sexually molested by some damned man, and that five year old child is your child? I see a man hit over the head, and if he dies, so be it. This man should be home with his daughter. She needs him to start the healing process. If a trial is needed, it should be expedient. There should be a law to protect people in circimstances like this, and elimination of a trial, or the accused released until trial.

ANYONE WHO SEXUALLY ABUSES A CHILD SHOULD BE DEAD OR ON DEATH ROW. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ENTER THE WORLD OF FREE EVER AGAIN.

There are many times when I don’t agree with Fig Newtons position on this board but I must say I totally agree with you on this one… The trauma this poor child has gone through is enough and needs to end ASAP… The child needs her father… this case should not be prolonged at all… Cut and dry let the father go… he is hurting enough. With all the real crime in this country we don’t need to waste another minute prosecuting this case…

Rita just Rita you obviously don’t have any children or you would not have responded in that fashion. You’re too cool and objective in on a subject that causes the hair on my neck to rise up and holler “kill him”. There is no way I could catch a man doing something like that to a child of any gender, whether it be my child or someone else’s, and not hurt or kill this person. (I use the word person loosely)

Serious we don’t know what would happen untill we are put in the place the father was put in. In my right mind I would do what the father done. This could lead to people getting rid of a person just because they so desire.

The movie “A Time to Kill” with Samuel Jackson…The best part to that movie is when he walked into that courthouse and wasted those pieces of trash that raped his daughter…I think that anytime you walk into a situation like that, what does the law want you to do???? The law is crazy and complicated. The situation, I look at is that this man was standing his ground.

    Abdul,
In your case I think that the courts allow people to take warrants out on people and then they get paid for you to go thru their system. I find this to be a situation that when we go to vote we need to make sure that we volunteer our time to see who we are putting in office. It is a pure waste of tax payers dollars and our time as well as the courts time for stupid people to do vinidictive actions just because they know they can. If they are held accountable for some of this c**p then they will STOP in their tracks and think before they proceed.

A Time To Kill was a great movie so in the case if it ever becomes a movie we can call it A Killing In Time, and yes I would done the same thing if someone mess with anyone in the family like that, yes there are some sick minded people in this world today who wanna harm innocent children so with this man I say bravo and walk into the sunset in Texas daring any other man to ever try it again in any part of Texas, and he has CONSTITUTIONAL IMMUNITY cause the old saying stands strong DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS and I can honor that and this gentleman to so the law system need to just leave him alone he did the right thing because he was angry and saw his daughter hurt and went into a rage, so to me its justice or justified justice

Everybody’s right in a sense but the trend here seems to be kill, kill, kill. Hopefully the dad will get off. I do wish for that. But laws are necessary, people if for no other reason than what you’re all saying should be the answer to so many issues that bother you. What if a molester gets caught and kills the dad? Can he then say “he” was protecting the daughter because he knows how the verdict on this case came out? It gets into “he said, she said” conjecture. I’m just saying we gotta retain some degreee of civility or it’s all over……. for everybody….

I wouldnt even call this an act of a vigilante. A father provides for his family, this man was providing protection for his child who could not protect herself. I dont condone vigilanteism, it’s not like the father went out looking for the man after the crime, but this man whom was trusted by the father was caught in the act. The father saw his child being attacked and acted to protect. There is nothing else that needs to be said! Give the man back his freedom for protecting his child!

Jacqueline, that Kumbaya c**p is for the birds. What Law Enforcement going to do? Not a d**n thing. I know what I would have done. After I beat this animal down I would string him up by his nuts and ask for coverage charges for people to do what needs to be done.

Trash like that does need my permission to live.

The residents of this small town is backing the father. The grand jury is a formality and the funny part of this whole situation is that law enforcement cannot find any of the molester’s family so that he can be buried.

This man asked for his judgment. Plain and simple.

While police will not release the name of the alleged molester until his family is reached in Mexico. Ship his body back to Mexico and sue the Government for allowing these people in to commit crimes like this and all the wrong way driveing accidents. I have a daughter and two grandaughters, U molest one & U die. No trail needed, no 3 meals a day for 20 years. Automatic Death Sentence period, for rape of a child.

The legal argument is that he tried to stop the pedophile from hurting his daughter by hitting him on the head. He had no way of knowing the man would die as he does not have experience hitting anyone on the head. You can use bodily harm to protect yourself or your family (and also property in Texas). *I am not a lawyer*.

The moral arguments are a)The father protected his daughter as was his duty, b) that the pedophile deserved it c) anyone in this situation would do the same thing, and d)he stopped him from hurting other children in the future.

I agree with all these arguments. HE SHOULD NOT BE CHARGED.

Haaahaaa!! ONLY In texas would you see a silly as court trying to prosecute a man defending his own daughter in this situation. ONLY in racist, texas.. If this guy was rich, or tom cruise, or someone like that, or Mitt Romney, it would have never made it into a court room and shame on the silly a*s corney DA trying to convict this man.. Hey DA, Hey judge, what if it was your daughter and you walked into your home and saw a burglar raping your 5 year old kid, or 16 your old kid? what would you do, say hey wait let me call the police first? Idiots!! Let that man go free and no charges should be filed..Another reason we need to take care of this illegal immigration mess, STOP IT!!! and stop hiring illegals..
