Suspended ‘Politico’ Reporter Previously Tweeted That Racism is Politico’s “Secret Sauce”

Politico White House reporter Joe Williams, who was suspended for tepid comments he made about Mitt Romney feeling more “relaxed” in the company of the “white folks” at Fox and Friends, tweeted back  in March that “what’s most irritating is the overlay of blatant racism. that’s the secret sauce in the Politico shitburger,” according toThe Daily Caller‘s Dave Martosko. Martosko also reported an earlier tweet which said “we’re supposed to be about justice and the truth, but we’re mostly about posturing, arcane rules and CYA [Cover Your a*s]. annoying.”

When asked about those comments, Williams said that he was “having a bad day”,  and referred all comments to his  attorney, Jeff Jacobovitz.

Politico has long been cited for it’s lack of diversity, having mostly white males in leadership roles. In fact, Williams was the first black Politico editor.
