Senate Republican Leader McConnell Defends Billionaire Koch Brothers, Wants Unlimited Secret Donations

For conservative billionaires Charles and David Koch, no amount of money seems to be enough. Even though they have enough money to live and die happy for a few lifetimes, they’ve taken it upon themselves to get into the business of buying the American political system. And Senate Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is just fine with that, according to a speech he gave to the American Enterprise Institute.

“Charles and David Koch have become household names, not for the tens of thousands of people they employ, not for their generosity to charity, and not for building up one of the most successful private corporations on the planet, but because of their forceful and unapologetic promotion and defense of capitalism” said McConnell

McConnell is also perfectly fine with donors giving money to candidates and politicians in secret, as he called out Obama for his support of  the DISCLOSE Act, which would require outside groups to list their donors, a political weapon for exposing and intimidating the president’s critics.
