Only in America: Man Who Buried Children Alive, Then Demanded Ransom, Released From Jail

One of three men men who kidnapped a busload of California school children has been released from prison after spending more than 35 years in prison.

State officials confirmed that Richard Allen Schoenfeld had been released from jail, but would not confirm where he had been released to, only saying that he would be wearing a GPS ankle monitor.

An appeals court ordered his release earlier this year, ruling that the Board of Parole Hearings unfairly set his parole date for 2021 even though it concluded he wasn’t a threat to society.

Schoenfeld and two others were convicted in the 1976 kidnapping of students from Chowchilla and their bus driver.  They managed to escape when the kidnappers decided to take a nap before calling in their ransom demand.

Well actually you can’t spend longer than 30 years in prison regardless of what you do.. I say ppl are much crazier here though & most need reform or the death penalty.

All you need to do is look at that dude’s eyes. He is certified crazy, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near him. See what happens when liberal judges are allowed to make decisions? The same judge that thinks illegal aliens are cool and rules that a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage is unconstitutional (but it’s not unconstitutional if the constituion was amended to change the constitution) also will do c**p like this. See, you really don’t want liberals in charge of stuff.

Ms. Brown: Can you please tell me where you received your information that nobody can spend more than 30 years in prison? That is absolutely not true. There are thousands of inmates, that have severed longer than that. In the state of Michigan, you have sentences of life without parole, meaning that the only way that you are released, is in a body bag, and this is not the only state. Maybe in the future, you should do a google search, before making such an erroneous comment.

Did this guy really pay his debt to society? The trauma these families endured is multiplied by the numbers involved. He should never see a free day for the rest of his life….
