AZ Radio Show Host Refers to Obama as “The First Monkey President”
Barbara Espinosa out of Arizona is a radio show host who is either racist, insane or dying for attention. This week, the host referred to President Obama as “The first monkey president.” She even reiterated her remarks later in the week and claimed that with the last name “Espinosa,” she couldn’t possibly be racist.
The comments took place during the show, “Hair on Fire,” as she was taking a call from a listener who said that Obama is a communist with “rabbit ears.”
Espinosa originally tried to get past her comments by stating that they were influenced by an email she received from a listener. But Espinosa went deeper into her racist diatribe by stating that her remarks are protected by freedom of speech:
“Unless there has been a takeover of America and free speech is no longer allowed and I can be put to death for making a remark, I refuse to take the fifth.”
To make matters worse, Espinosa has gone so far as to argue that monkeys are quite intelligent and that it is a compliment that Obama was compared to them. Yea, right.

Regardless to what others may call President Obama, he is still the President of the United States making him also the President of the radio host. Or did she not know that? Perhaps, she does not have the sense of monkeys.

It is unfortunate that Americans have gone viral on the first Black President of the United States. This disrespect is unprecedented and frankly it is not by accident. This behavior reeks of racism regardless of the excuses. Ms Espinosa perhaps has forgotten that it takes a monkey to recognize another of its kind, another monkey, but it also takes a jackass like Ms Espinosa to display the degree of ignorance she shows in this comment. May I remind Ms Espinosa of Mark Twain’s quotation which goes something like this. “It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.”
This is one reason why I am AGAINST giving latinos a free pass to integration. Most Hispanics are as racist against African-Americans as the whites. Listen to what she said, it is a view shared by most of them.

The president has been called and portrayed worst. Ms Espinosa’s last name may very well be a Hispanic sounding name but that does not make her Hispanic or a non-racist as she is attempting to justify. If you were to call an a*s by any other name it will still be an a*s. A person’s name or even ethnicity does not make that person a racist or a non-racist. It’s the utterances from her mouth and her behavior that tell us whether she is a racist or not.

Having lived here in Arizona for the past 20 years, I have to agree somewhat with Willa. Most of the Hispanics here have no use for Blacks and that may well include the President even when they are desiring his help with an issue. It seems to be all about me, me, me or my situation even if it is obviously illegal when it comes to what they want. It is one reason I now consider myself as a moderate rather then being flat out liberal when it comes to certain issues. These people are not our friends and I speak from experiences that have occurred with me, one such as when I first came here and was turned in after 4 days on the job for speaking to some of the females on my new job before they decided as a group that they wished to speak to me. They even chastised other female workers for talking to me before they decided as a whole to do so. I was informed I could apologize to them and I said no way as I was raised to speak when I entered a room that was occupied before I arrived and also I made note it cost nothing to say hello to someone regardless of how new I was on the job. By the way, i came from the East coast and had retired once already so I did not play their kid games and made it known. Having been here for as long as I have and having seen how things go I believe they feel privileged next to whites here. I have come to the conclusion that much of the animosity towards Blacks stems from jealousy and envy of what Blacks have been able to achieve but may lose out on if our youth do not wake up. I am a 70 year old who still gets mistaken for someone in their late forties or fifties with a sound mind and sharp observation that was educated by all Black teachers who prepared our segregated school students to enter in a not so friendly world. It is shameful to see our youth being lead astray through drugs, video games and rap music while others who may or may not have been born here take advantage of what the Black Civil Rights Movement made possible while they hate on us………Explain that !

The presiding political discussions which are dominating the landscape have moved so far away from the center that it should concern even those who pay little to no attention to politics. Lies and “Hate-Speak” can now be considered the norm in current political practice.
WE cannot force avowed racist to reform, but we can commit ourselves to not returning to the “Jim Crow Era.” We must vote in numbers that honor our ancestors, become politically literate and participate in the political process by supporting those who best represent our interests.
