Dr. Boyce: Why I Think Colin Powell is the Greatest

by Dr. Boyce Watkins
This week, former Secretary of State Colin Powell paid a visit to Sean Hannity on Fox News.  Hannity surely remains frustrated that Powell is not being a “good Republican” by seeking out truth rather than playing by simple party rules.  In a well-done interview with Hannity, Powell laid out his position and clearly specified that he is taking his time to evaluate both parties before making a decision in the next election.

I really like Colin Powell.  In fact, I’m willing to bet that you probably like him too.  The reason that we are likely in agreement on our appreciation for Powell is because the man has sharply positioned himself a potential friend to everyone, but as the water boy for no one. Powell has been masterful at leveraging his political power by refusing to give too much loyalty to any candidate too quickly, until he’s sure the candidate is going to represent his interests.  His actions remind me of  rule 20 of the 48 Laws of Power, which is to “Never commit to anyone.”

If the republicans really wanted to beat Obama they would have asked C Powell instead of house (you know the rest) like herman “uncle ruckus”cain. The rethugacans are focused on getting their wealthy members richer nothing more and nothing less.

Everything that they are willing to fight tooth and nail for has something to do with money….think about it

Many don’t know that there was at one time a committee to elect Powell, and I was a member of that committee.

He is alright, now, however, before I would not have voted for him , simply because he positioned himself with the Republicans with whom I have yet to find a common point of view….
