Derrick Bell’s Widow Defends Him Against Right Wing Attacks [Video]

by Yvette Carnell

The same people who thought it classless to speak ill of Andrew Breitbart after his passing, have absolutely no issue with maligning the late Harvard professor Derrick Bell.

Even though Breitbart was an opportunistic gassbag who sought only to tear the country apart, while Bell was an academic who parsed through history for thoughtful answers, the right wing exalts Breitbart, and has declared Bell’s theories dangerous.

The smears have now gotten so out of hand that Professor Bell’s widow has taken to prime time to defend her husband against right wing attacks:

If right wing extremists like Sarah “the idiot” Palin, Bill O’Reilley, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and others believe that the late professor Derrick Bell was a radical for protesting and urging Harvard University to hire a qualified African American female professor then these folks, were they around in Jesus’ day would also consider him a radical. So, in a sense Professor Bell is in good company with Jesus.

The Republicans are so interested in trying to bring this president down until they will find a way to attack anyone associated with him. They want to paint a picture that Proffessor Bell was some sort of commumist seeking to harm all the poor little lilly white americans when all he did was take a voluntary unpaid leave of absence to protest the lack of tenured minority women professors., if you watch the video closely as Obama is introducing him the majority in attendance are white. The question is, are the Republicans accusing these Harvard students of being Communist or Communist sympathizers? They won’t so badly to find a deal breaker that would prevent President Obama from being re-elected until they will to do and saying anything. People like Sean Hannity is leading the pack with this nonsense and all they are doing is hurting the Republican brand more and more each day.
